the only problem with masks is A. the ability to see ok. and B. sweat going everywhere down your face.
Stick with a hat (or horns) and a pullover costume (or a clock). get used to wearing the thing before you go to the Roo (I would recommend wearing it outside at some point so you also get used to the heat). Dont worry about if it looks great or not, the looks on peoples faces will be priceless.
Wearing it at night, again, is great and all but everyone EXPECTS to see that at night....ball up and go with it and wear it the entire time and you will so enjoy it!

Haha, good advice about not worrying how you look. People's reactions are worth it! I generally do not like attention directed towards me, but obviously when you're wearing a costume people are going to look at you, ya know! So I did a sort-of practice round last weekend.. My friends suggested I wear this hot pink leopard print tutu & a top hat out to the bar, so I said "Why not?" & did it.. I'm sure I wouldn't have been so anxious about looks from strangers if I would have been more intoxicated, but it really wasn't so bad. Everyone actually seemed to like it! It was good fun.
Beastie Boys, Nine Inch Nails, The Mars Volta, Snoop Dogg, TV on the Radio, MGMT, The Knux, Crystal Castle, Julia Nunes, Tobacco, Portugal. The Man, Gomez, Animal Collective, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Santigold, David Byrne, Public Enemy, Girl Talk, Bon Iver, Gov't Mule, Citizens Cope, Andrew Bird, Coheed & Cambria & Phish.
Maushead would be awesome! But again, with the heat factor though. I'd love to see it if you decide to do it though!! Also, no Gaga hate from me!! +karma to you for that, actually

After watching LCD Soundsystem's video for "Drunk Girls" I have to go as a panda. It's an easy and inexpensive costume to make and currently relevant. Drunken pandas unite!!!

I saw both Greenman and Spiderman at past festivals. Poor Spiderman was overheating so much that he stopped by our tent and begged us to help him take off his costume and give him some water to drink. It was sad and funny at the same time. I think my favorite costume is a wetsuit with glow strings attached to it to look like a stick figure. It totally freaks people out at night.
i am thinking of making a special dragon costume hooded shirt and possibly painting the rest of my body and face green to match for the flaming lips show. definitely feel like that will be the set to bring out the costume for.
(although, a zombie army @ GWAR is pretty daggone ingenius)

Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.

I'm sure the people behind you will love you for your oversized mau5 head.
I love how the guy in the beer getup is sporting dress slacks and shiny black dress shoes. That pic screams "Hey, uptight dweebs! Have we got the costume for you!"

First time going to Bonnaroo and I have to get in on this costume action. I recently dug out some old Halloween costumes and there's 2 I have to bring:
I had a lot of fun the first time I wore them I'm sure that will happen again. I'm a skinny dude so it's a lot of fun to run around yelling "fat guy coming through" and bumping in to everything. Heat should not be a issue you get a lot of room in there.

I'm also coming from Grand Forks. It's cool to know fellow North Dakotans are going. I'm driving down with my girlfriend so just the ride itself will be an adventure. For the Lips show I'm just thinking of dumping a bunch of food coloring on my face/into my contacts, and wearing a shirt with a drawing of Jesus shooting heroin on it.
