We're also one of the city's best places to see live music - our legendary free in-stores have included Spiritualized, M.I.A., Van Hunt, Ladytron, the Gossip, Will Oldham, Sonic Youth, Kid Koala, Sharon Jones, the Polyphonic Spree, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and a well-remembered show by the late Elliott Smith
(These are the artists that have played at the San Francisco location, just as a reference.)

On their website they have bands listed in the description of each location. Maybe we should try and see if the same band is mentioned at the Berkley and San Fran links but not the Hollywood?

I see that at the Berkely and San Fran stores you can get a special 'summer of love' t-shirt, and the page for this has the 'Further' bus on the top of it. ??? www.amoeba.com/content/summer_of_love.html
Edit ~ You can also get a free guide to best of bay area 60s music...it says 'stop by either of our Bay Area stores..."
Edit - bogus, this might be an old page I guess...but I still think Sly is an option...The Dead/Further...Santana?

I love the sf record shop idea but while we are waiting to see if anything materializes from that I thought I'd suggest that the clue could be referring to a place you might find an actual amoeba such as in the sea, in a lab, under a microscope, etc.

That's what I'm thinking. Are Stereolab still on hiatus?
