I missed a couple late night show last year because I was too tired at the end of the day. I was planning on bringing ear plugs so I could sleep in a little bit since I would usually wake up at 6:30 because of the noise. Anyone else have any suggestions?

The first four Bonnaroos I was unable to get musch sleep due to the heat, not noise. But last year was the first time I was able to sleep past sunrise (in fact, we regularly slept till 11 and were late getting into Centeroo), and It was entirely due to our camp setup. It was only 2 of us in an enormous tent (7 person), and we had sun shades and tarps rigged to keep it in the shade for the entire day. That combined with earplugs and you just might be able to sleep through all of Bonnaroo (blasphemy, I know).

I used earplugs one night because our neighbors were extremely loud and obnoxious at 4-5am. They worked wonderfully However, it was the sun that was my big problem. We didn't have any shade at our campsite, so it just got too hot in our tent as soon as the sun came up.

If you had tarps around your tent did it get too hot?

Not really. It was a big, airy tent, which was key. we had used a tiny 2-man tent in the past and it too hot. And most of it was not covered, only the doorway part was, which we made sure to face east to block the rising sun. It was cool, airy and shady until about 10:30 am.
