The Million Dollar Bashers are a super group that did sessions for the I'm Not There Soundtrack. It features Lee Ranaldo (Sonic Youth), Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth), Nels Cline (Wilco), Tom Verlaine (Television), Tony Garnier, Smokey Hormel and John Medeski.
Among the lead vocalists that fronted the band: Eddie Vedder, Karen O, Stephen Malkmus and Tom Verlaine.
As a side note, I think you could do a great shared late night tent with Million Dollar Bashers and Calexico acting as the backing bands for several guest vocalists and front men. Calexico backed Dylan covers from Willie, Jim James, Roger McGuinn, Sam Beam and Charlotte Gainsbourg.
