Just got back from watchin Herbie for free at the Atlanta Jazz Festival. It was a cool show but he palyed mostly new stuff which isnt near as good as the Head Hutners' stuff. He did paly a really cool version of Watermelon Man though with another song and he switched back and forth from each of the songs throughout the jam and it was really cool. Any other Atlantans catch the show?
I did, and it was AWESOME. I told myself if he played anything from Headhunters or Thrust, I would be happy. Plus the newer stuff was great. Even though he only played for over an hour, he still put on a damn good set.
