Tonight will be my last time getting to perform here in the 'ville until who knows when. It's a pretty big bummer to be leaving my 'scene' behind, but I'm very thankful that I've met so many awesome people and have had the opportunity to play a lot of awesome electronic music over the past year and a half. I'm also thankful that so many Inforoo homies have supported me by either coming out to my shows, or tuning into my radio broadcasts. Here is to hoping I can find out a way to continue performing while abroad!
So easy and all you have to do is spam your Facebook and twitter accounts!
Oh yeah, I know. I've been a part for years. The big "problem" is that during the heaviest street team time, it's also my busy season at work (ie. no lunch break) and doing screen shots and such isn't easy to do on the sly. Then I get out of the habit...
I hear that, bonz! I usually only manage to do orders on my one day of the week off.
I have so many YAY's from the weekend I do not even know where to start.
I will start with SilentEyedStorm and bacon. It was great getting to meed SilentEyedStorm and hang for a day. Wish you could have made it to the rest of the fest, Sarah says hi. :-) And of course it is always a pleasure to see @banonus66. Had a great time shooting some bands and listening to some great music, we really appreciated the rides back to our hotel at the end of the night. The weather was fantastic, but my standards from Ohio....so it did not take much to make me happy with the weather. YAY!
So every night of the festival they had a silent auction for a guitar signed by each member of every band playing that day. 100 percent of the money goes to the local Childrens Hospital and I think a shelter for battered women.
My incredible girlfriend wondered off and went by the merch tent. She sees the silent auction and makes a bid. (she knows I am a HUGE STS9 fan) She comes back and tells me about the auction (it was not well publicized and I did not know about it until she told me) She says that it was for a great cause...so she doubled the current bid because she thought it was was way to low, she has a big heart. But not to get excited because there was a lot of time left. Wellllllllll, turns out she won the auction. The nice people of McDowell Mountain agreed to ship it back to Ohio for free. The bands that signed are: STS9, Gramatik, Lettuce, Sarah Robinson & the Midnight Special (local Phoenix band), and Decker (local Phoenix band) So awesome and for a good cause.
Terrific weekend all around. Thank you to everyone that made it so fantastic. Got some great shots, just finished day 1 photos. YAY YAY YAY !!!!
I'm not one to post ''real'' shit and I can't even make a post on Facebook about how happy I am today! Maybe I can put into words to strangers how awesome today was knowing you guys can't see my tears of joy!... On 07.26.2013 my father, career mentor, and best friend was involved in a horrible car accident. Pretty much his legs were shattered from the knee down and he had some bad brain trauma. It was bad, really bad. Other than my older brother and myself the rest of the family said fuck it and he was our problem. We ran twelve hours on and twelve hours off shifts, with work in between, for two months. Halfway through I had to go and pull my younger brother out of a psych ward for becoming an alcoholic. After all I had been through that was the hardest day of my life. My father ended up getting home, but, insurance wouldn't pay for wound care. Needless to say I learned skills I never knew I would have to know. My dad ended up losing a leg, but, I'm enthralled to say after eight long months he is getting fitted for a prosthetic! After he gets fitted he can start walking for the first time sinc July! While I knew the family business top to bottom I still had no clue how to run a business on my own, but, ended up making it work and making more money than we have ever made. I've had to play the role of physical therapist, nurse, counselor, etc. for the last eight months. My dad, my brothers, and my mom were all about to tear up with the good news we got today, but, I couldn't let myself do it. As my best friend told me (a fellow bonnaroovian) ''You have to be the man. Don't cry, take care of business'' Alas, with teary eyes I can finally say there is a light at the end of the tunnel! Yay and thanks for being a place I can anonymously get that off my chest!

That's amazing!!!!!! So happy for you, your family, & your dad!! And don't forget, you don't always have to be that strong person. It's ok to break down when you're stressed out, and it's ok to cry tears of joy too! If you don't face your emotions they'll catch up to you. Enjoy this moment and remember this good feeling when things get stressful again while he rehabilitates. This will only bring your family closer and you're all amazing people for staying so strong!!!!

EZ Up arrived yesterday, time to figure out some walls for this thing, thinking sunny side gets a tarp and two others get sheets and open to the opposite side of that hot morning sun. My mom says she is gonna buy the cot i want for me which is awesome! Plan on sleeping under that for Roo, really hoping for no rain. May have a tent just in case that happens

Yup I think I got the same one as you, but mine is standard blue. Looks like it should be easy enough. I will def be doing a test set up in a month or so, once I think I'm ready. God damnit I cannot wait! YAYYYYYYYYYYYY

I found out a couple of years ago that cotton shower curtains are perfect for ez-up sunblock. They're generally way cheaper than tapestries, don't have to have grommets added, and they blow beautifully in the breeze. Just hook 'em up with some cheapie shower curtain rings on the EZ up frame along the east and west side and voila! Breezy and cheap. I had to abandon some curtains last year after the rain collapsed my canopy Sunday night, and I didn't have to feel bad about leaving cheap curtains behind.

Me 3, but mine is the hot pink one. I love my tapestries, but hanging them up can be a chore. I tried clothing pins but they didn't hold. Safety pins are good, but if it's really windy they start to tear the canopy top.

On a different thread I think i saw the suggestions of clamps from like home depot or even walmart. much stronger than pins, said they were like $12 for a couple

I use the large size binder clips that I "borrow" from work.

Oooooo..... I could borrow a bunch of those!! Do they work well then? Do you clip them to the bars under the canopy top or the canopy itself?

Yes, they do for me. I think I've clipped them both ways. I usually don't pay a whole lot of attention & B_Rad will fix everything after I've moved on to the next project.

...Cut Copy, who haven't played a non-festival set in Australia in nearly three.f'ing.years. (who, me? Bitter? Pshaw!)
Scratch that entirely. They must've heard my bitchin', because they just announced tour dates for next month, and I snagged me a ticket this morning - and at one of my favourite venues, no less. Wahoooo!

OK this falls under the category of shit NOONE cares about but it's a big tornado of YAY for me. Some of the free synthesizer apps for iPhone make some pretty amazing sounds. So far as I've found though ALL of them suck to the point of uselessness from the standpoint of someone who wants to compose music that can be reliably recreated later. If you're bored already than stop reading this post and scroll to the next, trust me it's not going get any better. I'm doing a happy dance.
My work around has been to sample single sounds by using a cord to connect the head phone jack of my iPhone to the Microphone Jack on my computer (audio out to audio in effectively) and spread the recorded result across a key range on a sampler in my digital audio workstation (aka DAW, I use an ancient version of Propellerhead's Reason). That worked but I was at a dead end if I wanted one of my sampled tones to stretch on for an extended length of time. Not just a loop that would have a beginning, middle and end repeating itself but a beginning followed by a middle that never ended until I took my finger off the keyboard at which point it would proceed to the end.
Think of it this way: Lets say I sampled someone saying "I Love you!" That's great! I could loop that and it'd just keep saying "I Love you I Love you I Love you" over and over, but what I wanted to do was make it so that when I pressed a key on my keyboard it would say "I Love Love Love Love" and keep saying "Love" until I released my finger then it would say "YOU". YAY! I figured it out!
This is huge to me because now instead of a sound I happen to record or come across having a cyclic beginning-middle-end I know how to stretch a part of it as long as I want. This will in no way change the world or my circumstances It's a new toy. A really awesome new toy that can do allot of cool shit! It's kind of like discovering that all of your matchbox cars are actually Tranfsormers.
P.S. I haven't been around in awhile. HOWDY EVERYBODY!

Hello, fellow synth nerd! Definitely not boring at all - I know and love that feeling of accomplishing a viable workaround very well! There are few more satisfying feelings than when you're working hard on something and finally get it exactly how you want it, be it a song, story, dish, painting, whatever.
I definitely understand your gripes on the iPhone / iPad apps. The best I've discovered is probably Animoog - not free, but it's pretty buggy with exporting, and recreating sounds can still be a b*tch. I was down in Melbourne the weekend before last, and fell in love with a new synth at a music store. Just a little out of my price range at the moment, but this shit *will* be mine sooner rather than later.
