I'm intoxicated and watching old home movies. Life used to be more simple as a kid. Not so much GRRRR as I have a good life now, but nostalgia is a hell of a thing.

My favorite radio station, an alternative/indie station, is being re-branded into a classic country station beginning Monday. We already have PLENTY of country stations...this is just irritating and sad.
Thank god I JUST got a newer car that has an aux jack...I'll be relying solely on Spotify from now on.

Fuck terrestrial radio. You'll never miss it.
The aux jack was one of my stipulations when I got the new car for that exact reason. Still sad to see the last good station in my area die, haha.

I would occasionally switch back for my local NPR station and some of the local college radio stations in Boston (shout-out to WERS), but for the most part, yeah. It's a sad state of affairs when a bunch of stoned 20-year olds can mop the floor with anything the suits at Clear Channel can come up with.
Okay now I just need to start a gofundme so that I can take a trip over the pond to London.
For your sake, I hope it is very different than the cat cafes in Japan. You think it's going to be a cafe where you can play with cats, but really, it's more like a stanky animal shelter where you can get a cup of gross juice. And then stanky cats shed fur and dander in your already-gross juice. That'll be 3000 Yen, please.

Completely agree, NPR is the one exception. I usually listen through their app, so it kind of slipped my mind of being on terrestrial radio.
Tom Ashbrook, Ira Flato, Terry Gross, love 'em all

I get Michigan State's college radio station and that is pretty good, too, I can say that. We mostly have a lot of country and Top 40 stations.

I have Sirius and a USB port (for a flash drive or an iPod) in my car. I rarely listen to terrestrial radio, to the point where one of my presets changed to a Christian station last summer and I didn't notice until six months later.

It was a sad day when the Phoenix sold 101.7. It ended up being a country station, adding insult to injury.
98.9 in Worcester, which was a mediocre oldies station to begin with - also went country, which sucks.

Uggh, don't remind me. WFNX, man! The station that broke the Pixies, and the first to play Nirvana. That alone should have classified it as a world heritage site.
That, and WBCN becoming a crappy mix station, while the crappy mix station became a sports talk station. Because there aren't enough places in Boston to hear about sports, apparently. Admittedly WBCN had been dying a slow death for years, but it still hurt.

WEEI (93.7) is an oddball. They have the Red Sox games and some sports talk, but then they have conservative blowhards in the morning and Barstool's super-bro now in the afternoon.
When 98.5 flipped to sports, they spent a bunch of time talking shit about 93.7 spending too much time talking about politics.
I sold my ticket to father john misty on the 4th because I realized I had too many concerts on saturdays and didn't want to/can't afford to take off that much work.... I just got my schedule for that weekend and I'm on call that night - AKA won't need to work most likely. damnit!!!!!

Looking at about $430 to get my computer fixed. Fuck.
I did a Windows Update and it fucked my computer up bad, but I needed files/folders from projects that was still on there (that I hadn't backed up yet) and after the update my computer was shot. But apparently part of the reason for that was my i7 processor being on it's way out and having 4 out of 6 things fail (I have very limited computer repair/part knowledge lol).
So now I need to get a new chip and new motherboard (because replacing the processor with a similar one would cost a ton on it's own), have him replace those and reinstall windows/back up my files.
I'm so pissed. On top of all my medical bills and regular expenses/bills I now have to shell out to get my comp fixed. I've got a backup computer at home that is good but not as good as my main PC and it's limited.
Just so annoyed. Money sucks. I hope I can get my computer back soon and I don't lose anything

It's just lame because I went in expecting to pay $100 or under. But there's nothing I could personally do to fix the machine and I can't buy a new one. Just typical frustrations. Thanks CKS!
As far as converting radio stations go, there's still hope!!! When I was younger we had a station that was alt rock. It was amazing- we even had Dee Snider as a DJ throughout my high school years. It flipped to hip hop/rap for my college years and then back to alt rock in 2008 or so. It's still a great station.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

was it really Dee or just his syndicated show?
it reminds me of when I was in high school, and the country club where I was a lifeguard would play this crappy adult contemporary radio station that had that Delilah show on in the evenings and we would always groan/complain to each other when it started. One day a co-worker came back from a family road trip and was like "did you know there are Delilahs all over the country?"
I'm most likely the only one who would GRRR about this, but its currently 80 degrees in Denver on today March 16th. This does not please me. WTF happened to winter?! 80 degrees can wait until April.
