Passion Pit canceled their tour!!! Was very much excited about that show tonight
not that i dont believe you, but do you have a link for it/do you know if their lolla appearance was cancelled too?
Phi shared MMW's FB status last night. It didn't mention Lolla:
Unfortunately we have been informed that the remaining Passion Pit tour has been cancelled. Refunds will be issued via your point of purchase. We are very sorry guys, and we will get you any additional information as soon as we have it.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
GRRRRRR. Supposed to see them Saturday night at Firefly and they were doing a DJ set aftershow that night too.
I would like to publicly amend this and remove my GRRRRRR. I just read Michael's open letter on Facebook about why the shows are canceled and a human being's mental health is far more important to me than any show at a festival. I hope he gets well soon.
One of my best friends mom just passed away after her 2+ year battle with brain cancer. Hey cancer, fuck you and crawl into a hole where you'll never be found again and die you piece of shit. FUCK.
Rough, Dan'R. Truly, deeply, sorry for your friend, and you.
Cancer won't crawl in that hole, because it IS the hole. The wretched, gaping maw that steals good people from their friends and loved ones.
At some point (maybe not in any of our lifetimes), there'll be a pill you can take that'll knock it out like a migraine. Why we have to continue contributing to that research, as each of us are able.
In the meanwhile, all you can be is a great friend to your friend. I know you've got that covered well, already.

Labor matrix's are the bane of my existence. The sandwich chain I worked at for 6 years would punish managers for not meeting sales projections by cutting the amount of labor they were allowed, to the point of having 2 people closing an entire restaurant. Upper management made it very clear that if you weren't clocked out by 10pm, you were in very big trouble, even if it meant clocking out and still working until you were done. It's quacking illegal, but no one seemed to care.
That's kinda what's been happenin' at my Melting Pot. Except our owner is just a cheap bastard. So now we're not allowed to clock in until about 45 minutes before we open on weekdays and still we're expected to set up everythin' and have a twenty minute pre-shift. And on weekends most of us aren't scheduled to show up until after we open. So because we don't want to to f'ed in the a we all show up early and do the work without pay.
Also boo to Julie's leaky roof!
You all should totally report this stuff to your state's department of labor.

I connected my paypal account to facebook a couple weeks ago. BAD idea. We found 100 gone out of checking account and realized that 1. Someone hacked into my fbook and spent 100 dollars on game tokens for some random fbook game (no not one I play tyvm) or 2. My 4 year old spent 100 dollars for tokens on a game he played once but mostly because it had a lot of buttons. Buy now buttons. So for the times when I can't remember all the passwords and security info to buy something that's ending in 3 minutes for paypal to just having to click a button, no input as far as passwords, I think paypal has screwed up.
Edit to say that I did unconnect my paypal from facebook and file a complaint at the bank

They probably have something in the fine print about having just a buy now button and not needing to fill in everything. They probably hope that people's kids do that sort of thing lol

Yeah, apparently that is one of the "conveniences" of linking your paypal to your facebook. When Abra told me about her talk with Paypal, the rep put it out there as a possibility. I bet she was not the first call to complain about it.

This is like the story I just read about a father suing Microsoft/Xbox because his son spent thousands of dollars of money on buying game stuff. He places the blame at the company while he doesn't hold his son responsible even though:
1.) He put the credit card on the Xbox that his son uses 2.) He didn't set any parental controls/locks on the Xbox (they are there for a reason) 3.) He didn't check his bank account/notice any money going missing (this took place over a few months). 4.) His son claimed he didn't know what he was doing.
Now, the difference here is that Abra's story stems from a one time thing where Paypal makes it easy to not realize what you are doing. Meanwhile in the Xbox story the kid was a lot older than Abra's 4 year old and Xbox clearly asks you multiple times about charging your card with a certain dollar amount. So he had to have known what he was doing (though he claimed otherwise).
Either way....hope things work out for you Abra. That sucks

Sorry to hear about that Dan'Roo... my mom has had cancer several times and luckily has beat it so far. Big hugs to you and your friend. I feel your pain.
Abra- I hope everything works out with your bank and Paypal. I am always scared to link my account anywhere. Best of luck!!
I wake up this morning, after less than 5 hrs sleep.
A deer sprints out in front of me, shortly after I get on the highway. Just got out of the way in time to not mow down Bambi's mom.
And then when I get to work, its hot and muggy. Worse than outside. And my supervisor tells me I'm being sent to the section I hate to work in. Luckily it wasn't the lugging around ceramic tiles after all, but still doing unpleasant stuff on a warm muggy day.
GRRRRR LA police for arresting Fred Willard in an adult movie theater for lewd behavior. GRRRR for undercover vice cops wasting their time staking out an adult theater.
GRRRR to the Emmys for not giving Parks & Recreation the recognition they deserve.
The fact that Steve Carrell never won for The Office yet that asshat from The Big Bang Theory has won multiple is pretty much all you need to know about the Emmy's when it comes to comedies.
Note: I have no idea if the guy is actually an asshat, I'm just assuming cause the show is that awful.
glenn you would not believe how many people love that show. at comic con there was a shitton of people who waited in line to see that panel. i don't get it either......
Hey there is nothing wrong with stupid, fun comedies. I don't disagree that it isn't Emmy worthy but I love that show. Maybe more than The Office for that matter.
