Just had to give the New York State DMV a cool $300 to get my driving privileges restored before I drive through their (not-so) fine state on my way to Bonnaroo. All for a speeding ticket from 2009 that I already paid for, but because I'm out of state, they slap an extra fee on. ARGH.

For shits and giggles I looked it up. For Katy Mae to avoid NY state on the way to Roo, it would add over 450 miles (and about 7 hours) to the trip. It'd go through Vermont to Montreal, across southern Ontario for an eternity (at least you can see Toronto), and turn south at Detroit.

I might be bored.
That's awesome. Now figure out how I can get to Florida without going through Mississippi, Alabama, or Georgia.
Edit-I'm going to work out. Have it figured out by the time I come back.

Lately my land line phone has been acting all weird, when you call it you get 1 ring then a busy signal. Today when I called the customer support number to get it fixed, their phone rang once then went to a busy signal every time I called even when using several different phones. This sort of thing is why I hate charter.
Whatever you do, don't go to a 'credit union'; they are small - sure - but they pay no taxes into the system and lack the sophistication, expertise, and resources to safely underwrite the types of Lending to which the are attempting to gain access. Losses will cause them to fail just like a Bank, and the government will pay for it, just like a Bank. And they paid no taxes in to help fund their mini-bailouts.
So I too am feelin' underprepared and not ready fer 'Roo yet! Life's been a whirlwind recently with a weddin', four friends passin' within' a week, leavin' one job and hopefully havin' another come Sunday, another weddin', and short beach trip with my girlfriend's family just beforehand! And I'm broke!
It'll all be worth it though...just gotta keep my head on fer a little longer!

We just did a dry run of our camp this morning and there is a hole in my ez-up. It's a tiny little thing on the side. What bothers me is that I let some friends borrow it for firefly last year and it looks like it was dropped and dragged. The case for it is torn to shit on the end without wheels and there's scuffing/signs of being dropped carelessly on the frame. I'm never letting anyone borrow my festival equipment again!
My allergies have been bad this Spring. I've taken up a regimen of Zyrtec and just switched to Zyrtec-D (which contains sudafed) because I feel so crappy. Woke up this morning to a sore throat and no voice. It feels like the Bonnaflu but a week early. Gonna take it easy today and cross my fingers I'm 100% by Thursday.
There's a special corner of hell reserved for people who put their dogs outside on weekend mornings and let them howl for hours on end.
Ha, just last weekend, I yelled at the neighbor's dog (who is a good distance away, wasn't like I was screaming over a fence at it or something) to "SHUUUUUUT UUUUUUUUP!" after about 2 hours of its incessant barking and you know what, for the first time in history, it worked! Really, I yelled at the idiotic human who had let the poor dog drone on and on for so long, and I do believe the idiotic human heard me. Small miracles.
My friend and I decided to volunteer at bonnaroo for the experience. This requires a $300 deposit. I paid hers. Now she is bailing out. If anyone is in the eastern Arkansas / northern Mississippi / Tennessee area I would gladly pick you up and take you. I really don't want to lose my money. I am a 19 year old female. All I'm asking is you split gas money with me. You would not need to purchase a ticket because it comes with volunteering.
My Pop-Pop was taken to the ER this morning with slight abdominal pain and bloody stool. They've admitted him and will be doing an endoscopy and colonoscopy today, though they found that his hemoglobin was a little low so they're doing a blood transfusion, which is the thing that really scares me. Please send prayers/vibes.

Good vibes coming your way. Hope all turns out well.

That can be so scary. Hope to hear things are okay soon.

Will be thinking of you and sending lots of positive thoughts your way.
Thank you, ladies. He's the person I model myself after; it'd be scary to lose him. He had colon cancer about seven years ago but beat it after a couple rounds of chemo and a partial colectomy. Last summer they found masses on his pancreas so they took that out too. It's just weird to think about because he's always been one of the healthiest people I've known - shit, at 73 he still spends his weekends during the winter as a ski instructor. He's one of the youngest old people you'll ever meet. He's always seemed invincible. But after the pancreatectomy things never really returned to normal - he had a long recovery from the surgery and has never really felt back to his old self, and his blood sugar levels never really stabilized (since he's a diabetic now). It's hard to not see him bounce back the way he's always bounced back from everything. It's difficult to admit that his overall health is declining with age, and that this isn't just a prolonged recovery from the surgery.
