Dinner party at LLL's. Made seafood risotto with scallops, shrimp & littlenecks. Tirumisu. Copious ammounts of vino and craft beer. Framboise raspberry dessert beer. Martinis. Spinning Spoon, National, Jesus & Mary Chain, Eddie Murphy "Party All The Time." LLL is busy wrecking her living room with hula hoops and hitting little kids in the head or she'd surely post here.

We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
Scrolling through this thread, the timezone difference really makes it look like y'all are a bunch of daytime drunks - which, having been to a few brunches and Quack Clubs, may not be so far from the truth.
I don't know if this is officially a heatwave, but it damn sure feels like it. Currently 2am and 75 degrees. Tomorrow's high is 104. WTF, mate?
I've had to schlep over to the same part of town for the past three or four days in a row. And then I've gotta go back tomorrow. And the day after. And the day after that. Thankfully, today was the last of the shopping-related errands, but still - this is getting to be ridiculous. These mofos better appreciate mah gifts. I had to pick up something for my step-grandmum and was at a total loss. Hopefully her gift-giving skills have improved over the past 20 years. Who the quack gets a 7-year old socks?!
And I finally booked my tickets out of town for NYE tonight. I've really gotta stop procrastinating so damn much - took me forever to find an open seat on a good schedule. Admittedly the booze didn't help my search... but it did mellow the frustration somewhat. Success at last, although I'm on the bus and not the train. Hmm, stop procrastinating - New Year's resolution? Or will 2014 Sleepy put that off too? No! Not this time, crappy willpower. Your time has come! ...next week.

I drank a whole bottle of wine in around three hours after my family dinner. Families are so stressful when everyone is fighting. I think pretzels are a great drinking snack. Also, people never change.

If it makes you feel any better, I was totally impressed when I saw the empty bottle on Snapchat.

I am picky about wine, but this one is really good. It is not hard to have a few glasses, but I guess I felt like a wine challenge last night.
such a strange NYE. last one standing. ever feel so in love with everything that you could cry? couldn't think of a new years resolution. then. BOOM. the ukulele. I must learn how to play it. that is my goal for the year. doesn't have to be pretty but between work, family, and school I will learn to play SOMETHING. woohooooo. and that is my first drunken ramble for 2014!!! *takes a bow*
