Why the hell weren't any of you AD folks around here, when the show was on? It was pretty much Ziggy, Ka Mai, and myself talking about the show(just look at the first couple pages of this thread), now there's a sh!tload of people talking about it, and there's AD references all over the board. I felt so alone back then. Now I feel vindicated. Taste the happy, Michael.
I was here last year, in a way. I lived, lurked and posted through my girlfriend, Hilari. That being said.....
"Hello, my name is Wayne Jarvis and i'm legally obligated to tell you that there is, in fact, no candy in this office."
Oh, ok. You're Hilari's boyfriend. Well you're ok then. Everyone else here, you're put on notice. Of what, I don't know.
I was just watching the show and noticed something for the first time. The doctor that tells the family that George is "gone" (meaning he escaped, not died), that Buster was "all right" (meaning that he lost his left hand)....and other poorly-worded, misleading things as well. His name is Dr. Wordsmith. That's why I love this show! I've seen every episode dozens of times and i'm still noticing new things. It was probably the most well-written tv show ever....so, of course it had to be cancelled!

One of the many things that disappointed me with how Arrested Development was treated was how Fox always kept cutting back seasons to fewer and fewer episodes. There'd be so many great plot ideas that you'd read about that would end up getting scrapped because they had just over half a season to fit it all into. I really wish they got to do the episode where Tobias gets his acting break, a part on The O.C., and then they were going to have Tobias actually appear on a real episode of The O.C.
If you think about it, "Skating With Celebrities" was a much better show! Not only was it more innovative and intelligent but, it had near-limitless potential! I mean, there's no way that "Aressted Development" could have ever sustained such a loyal following! People have already forgotten all about AD, while SWC's legacy lives-on! That sh*t's the stuff of legends!

day one GOB: "52% of the country is single. That's a market that's been dominated by apartment rentals. Let's take some of that market. I call it Single City." day two GOB: "... It's like, 'Hey, you wanna go down to the whirlpool?' 'Yeah, I don't have a husband!' I call it Swing City." day three GOB: "... How do we filter out the teases? We don't let them in." day four GOB: "... and this goes for the guys, too, cause sometimes the guys are tapped out! But check your lease, man, because you're livin' in [bleep] City!"
