have some karma, mulcherry.
Smiting for expressing an opinion smacks of neo-con Bushism. He is a very scary man. Very. Scary.
Thanks. Someone needs to figure out who this mad smiter is..OR they could voice an opinion. If you like Bono/U2 or Metallica its quite all right with me.
Joshua Tree was great
Kill em' All- And Justice for all were superb Metal albums But you def. tell they ran out of Mustaine material when they hit the Black album. (which, up to that point, was the only Metallica album that didnt have Dave Mustaine written all over it)
Like everyone else has said, thank god there are another 90 bands/artists that will be at Roo'. I could handle one of the two, but not both...Unless Mustaine was playing with James, Lars, and any other bassist they can fit in. I.M.O. They should have never passed on Les Claypool, but lucky for us they did!
No - Badly want them at Roo this year...... No - Same as above, only not as bad No - Saw them at Roo '06. Not impressed, sadly. I should have popped in the CD and slept up for the late nites........
I would like to see Metallica live at least once, but not at Roo. If they are at Roo, I think I might have to call up Superfly and ask them what the hell they are thinking. There are enough big bands that could headline that would fit Bonnaroo way better.

i saw Metallica 3 times. the last time was in the early 90's. they were great every time. HOWEVER, i am one of those die hard fans who lost ALOT of love for them when Lars took on Napster. it was the ultimate betrayal. Metallica would have never amounted to anything if not for the loyal fans who traded their tapes in the early 80's. for the first 3 albums Metallica survived without any videos or promotion because fans were loyal and identified with their underground outsider attitude. then after they became multi-mililionaires they lost their edge. the evidence: 'Load' and every album since.
so, Metallica alone would not be reason for me to buy a Roo ticket. they are gonna need Led Zep to carry a lineup that includes Metallica. i'd rather see Primus anyday.
I think adding Metallica on the bill would make Bonnaroo the laughingstock of the festival scene. I won't believe it until I see it on Bonnaroo's website itself.
Metallica? Yikes. Well there have been rumors about Green Day and No Doubt at Coachella too. The funny thing is most of the best festivals in the rest of the world often have shameful headliners. This year Glastonbury had The Killers and Arctic Monkeys headlining, Summersonic had the Black Eyed Peas, and others had crap like Evanescence and Linkin Park.
Led Zeppelin would be epic, though. Imagine hearing "Stairway" with 80,000 people. But would Metallica mean no Pearl Jam?

I'm sorry to Metallica fans as this is purely personal, but I will not go to Bonnaroo if they headline. I've been for the past four years, and would see it as changed. I don't even really dislike Metallica, just see no correlation to Bonnaroo.
they have no revalence sp to roo just like tool did ? come on guys, other boards would drool with these two bands .... you cant like everyone at a fest and yes, as headlines it is more important, but tool didnt change or ruin the roo and no one band can do that either .... canx** grow up gang ......
tcome on guys, other boards would drool with these two bands ....
I can pretty much guarantee that Coachella, Lolla, ACL, Sasquatch and Langerado fans would be just as pissed. Tool is one thing. Metallica is a whole other story. It'd be like holding a NASCAR race in a baseball stadium. It just doesn't make sense.

Tool have proven time and time again that they are artists and focused on being such. If anyone has seen Some Kind of Monster or listened to any recent Metallica album can bear witness to Metallica's true motivation behind their music. If an angry band need be present at Bonnaroo bring Rage.
