Not sure if this has been mentioned, but the The Driver Era has been added to Friday’s schedule, What Stage. I assume it is the replacement for Lovejoy. I don’t know anything about them.
I just hope they keep The Who Stage going and can figure out the business side of it. It’s always been one of my favorite places to find newer, smaller acts, and I still crave mixing up my experience with more intimate performances, even at a big fest like Bonnaroo. The upgrades to it last year were nice. Glad it’s still returning this year.
Speaking selfishly, once they devoted 20% of the main 5-stage lineup to EDM via the Other, I’ve had a harder time filling my days with acts to see. It’s made me more lineup dependent since there’s fewer acts I reasonably expect to enjoy. I get that EDM is a draw, has a devoted following, and probably helps to make the festival sustain itself — and I do like some EDM, don’t get me wrong. But it’s been nice having the Who help to fill that void for me.
I guess I’ve just generally been a fan of their smaller venue settings — Solar, Miller Lite, Snake and Jake’s, the Grove, now the Galactic Giddyup. Helps to round out the festival and keep up the energy that something is happening everywhere, like how they’ve built up Outeroo.

I really like having a smaller stage like that in centeroo and the stage design itself was done really well last year and translated well into a silent disco. I’ll have more gaps in my schedule than usual to catch stuff there this year so I’m looking forward to it.

Just go back to page 100 and 101
Damn. I’d like to say I missed that, but I actually had read it and presumably blocked it out. I always find a couple of gems on the Who stage also. Gustaf and Rich Ruth from last year stand out.
I think the Who Stage lineup is a lot tricker than most people realize. All of the silly restriction clauses are a lot harder on bands that are still realistically only big on a local or regional level. Their side hustle in a band is often their way of making rent, and they just can't reasonably take the gamble.
There's one band I'm good friends with that got an opportunity a while back to open for one of our sub-headliners this year at the Orion here in Huntsville, and they were basically told that if they took the slot they wouldn't be able to play any gig in town for months. It would have just destroyed their everyday music income.
Speaking of those clauses, it’s gonna be really interesting to see how these new banned non compete clauses affect live events.
the way I understand it, that ban applies to employees but not entities, and pretty much every music act is an LLC so it won't do much
was scrolling through reddit and saw this pic. maybe it's just because it's getting closer or because the weather is getting nicer but seeing this gave me goosebumpy excited vibes for the first time this season. bonnaroo is cool and fun.

I wonder what the line for the Pretty Lights Thursday pit will be like. There's not really anything after Say She She I particularly care about, maybe I'll do merch, food, then line up

I think I've found a late game awesome artist on the Outeroo lineup that nobody has mentioned. I'm actually really excited about this.
Dombrance
It would appear that this French bastard is playing Where in the Woods on Sunday... but I'm not so sure. He has a scheduled date in Toronto on that exact day at 7pm. It seems like the WITW breakdowns are by day, but if that is fully true, the only artist listed for Saturday is SVDDEN DEATH. Maybe the artists listed under the Secret Sunday Headliner will be broken up between Sat and Sun?
This guy is fucking sick. The only mention I can find of him on this board is gibsonguy20 referencing Dombrance after seeing him at Format Festival, where he had him listed as the first honorable mention after his top 5 sets of that festival.
Secondly, I saw a random wishlist for Coachella from a redditor who was crossing their fingers for, "Justice, Aphex Twin, Dombrance, Massive Attack, Moderat, Orbital, The Prodigy, Barry Can't Swim, Basement Jaxx, Purple Disco Machine..." written out in that order.
Thirdly, he has opened for Underworld.
I'm 35 minutes into this video from 2 years ago, and I am really hoping this fucker plays during some of the downtime on Saturday. If he is playing Sunday and that Toronto date is wrong, I'm praying for a slot between Four Tet and Isbell, or maybe after the Surprise Headliner in the woods. You may remember that Sparkle City Disco was slotted to play after Alesso last year.
I could be jumping the gun here, but this guy is tickling my fancy on immediate impact. Check out almost any 5-minute stretch of this video if you are interested:

I am betting with all the conflicts you could show up 30 minutes ahead of time and walk in.

yeah but if I'm ~2 hours early I could get second row if not grab a lil rail?

I was think pit for PL as well. After Say She She it falls off. It’d be bad ass to be in the pit for that show. Also never been in the pit on the main.
I’ve gotten pit for Radiohead 2006, Beastie Boys 2009 and Jay Z 2010. I think that’s it’s for headliners. I wanted pit for TOOL but I was tripping and couldn’t commit.

I'm in a musical that closes next week and it's all I've been able to think about but I think Roo energy is gonna skyrocket after that. It's less than 50 fuckin days away
