superbly produced without being overwrought. dreamy without being ponderous. intentional and purposeful but with the corners softened. a little sad to listen to but hopeful as well.
Bowie’s greatest magic trick. I remember listening to this the day it came out and over the weekend before his death. Afterwards, it totally changed my perception of this cryptic masterpiece. Brilliant.

ok here's what happened. when i was originally joining the group it said "choose a name for your project" and i chose "inforoo". i didn't know it was asking me for my name. i think that messed up my ability to rate.
so i left the group and re-joined the group under my previously existing name "postjack". i just went to group history and had the "rate" option and was able to rate the previous albums.

^^^legit goes hard as fuck. "all my words come back to me in shades of mediocrity" is a great line.
"a simple desultory philippic" is pretty dope. almost like a less funny weird al doing a dylan parody. even name drops dylan (and dylan thomas). at the end of the song he just says "FOLK ROCK".
i appreciate how short this is. 28 minutes! and i enjoyed it more than i thought i would. really nice production value for the era.
after the album wrapped spotify autoplayed fleetwood mac "never going back again". cool to leap a decade forward to a version of that simon & garfunkel sound that is more fully realized and refined. more sparse bust also more technical.

if you click on the hamburger in the upper left of the screen, then click "history", there are five columns: # / Album / Artist / Rating / Global Rating. Under "Rating" it will either be "Rate" and "View Group Ratings", or if you've already rated it will be the number you rated it and "View Group Ratings". Click on "Rate" and you should be able to rate it.

Ohhh. I have the same problem and did the same thing so will try this.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

Hey everyone. Mainly just a lurker on this site anymore, but this thread intrigued me. I've been listening to the album of the day every day so far, so I figured I'd sign up and officially rate them. So if you see FortSteuben on the page just know its me.
Other than the Queen album all the albums have been pretty enjoyable so far with the Smiths album being my favorite. I am looking to get a little more diversity in genre here in the future.
