I think we're definitely getting The Black Keys this year.
They have a new album out, Auerbach has played before, Auerbach has production credits for Hermanos Gutierrez and Zella Day (Chaparelle).
While I wouldn't pay the money they're charging for their shows, I'd be happy to see them! Their new album has a few fun songs.
They are fun live. I got free tickets to see them in Boston the winter before lockdown. I wouldn’t pay to see them headline solo but they put on a fun show.
Black Crowes is definitely a headliner this year given the overlap with Folk On, no?
I would return tickets.
Probably same.
But the Brothers of a Feather booking during Folk On was odd to me since they didn’t have the same recent history at Newport as the other headlining acts. Which made me think they were a negotiating for the future sort of set.

It was odd to me too. I really hope not. I don’t mind the albums from the early 90s but I can’t get into anything after that. I did see them at HORD Fest 95 with Ziggy Marley and Blues Traveler. I was 15 and thought it was awesome:)
i mean, maybe? Taking a detour from Burlington down to Newport then back up to Albany is kind of awkward routing but I guess they do have the space. I sure hope not, though.
I know this lineup rollout may be preparing us for the inevitable, but no way this festival goes all folk-pop and books Hozier, Head and the Heart, Black Pumas and maybe Noah Kahan, right? Like that’s just too much like any other “folk” festival put on by LiveNation.
I knew this shit was going to happen. I’d be so bummed about a Hozier, Head and Heart, Kahan as headliners. I agree, Jay should have the foresight to not be this one note.
Small silver lining is Phosphorescent in tow.
Sturgill, Flaming Lips and Joanna sternberg would go a descent way for me to feel better about the lineup.

I don’t see THATH headlining. My hope would be that if they play Saturday they are opposite something interesting like Killer Mike or Orville. Not sure where they’d fit in on Friday, either leading in or against Pumas and Hozier?

Head and the Heart wouldn't headline. At best they'd be a subheadliner but even that's stretching it given the level of subs the last few years. Middle of the day Fort or late day Quad imo.
