I have listened to them both back to back a few times now and Mercurial World has actually REALLY grown on me. It isn't an album I had listened to much because the little Atari game noises and her pitch influenced my initial thoughts on the album and turned me off a little Which I can't really explain because I am a Grimes fan and there is a similarity there. I also did like the Simz album. I thought it was one of the better albums of 2021. But I don't think either of these is the "Album of the Year" so I was being a little shit about it.
Magdalena Bay-Mercurial World
im glad my brain twin voted for Mag because it did sting to have to choose between the two lol; I like them prettttty much equal amounts
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
Whatever y’all want to do for yourselves but Mag Bay is the better album. I’m having more fun getting down to this album than you’ are pretending Simz is interesting,
Oh ok
I was blackout drunk when I wrote that. My bad. That was a dbag post.

The three really good song off of Jubilee are really carrying this thing too far
I’m doing a tournament like this with some friends and Jubilee is damn near sweeping so far. I love it but I also think it’s perfect for this format because it’s pretty inoffensive and doesn’t have to grow on you.
In case anyone is curious here is the final bracket from the tournament I did with friends. 16 participants select 4 albums each in a snake draft. The seeding is just in the order the albums were picked. Most participants are in their late 20's/early 30's.
Japanese Breakfast won every single matchup easily. Lots of crossover with this Inforoo tournament.
