Ceremony has a new album, In The Spirit World Now, coming out August 23. Much excitement. They stated in an interview that this record will be brighter which frightens and intrigues me at the same time.
New Moon Duo track released today, the title track off of their upcoming 7th album, Stars Are The Light. Album is scheduled to come out Sept. 27th, and this new track has a much more light/upbeat/shiny/ sound and production compared to their previous works.
From out of left field comes a new collaboration album between experimental electronic producer Not Waving (Alessio Natalizia) and Dark Mark (Mark Lanegan) entitled Downwelling, due out August 2nd. Here's the duo's first preview track and video from the album, "The Broken Man." Hearing Lanegan's deep trademark voice over such unique, spacious landscapes makes for a lovely combo. Check it:
^Really dig that new Sleater-Kinney track. Best of the new batch in my opinion.
Here's the lead single "Dance Through it" for Twin Peaks' upcoming album Lookout Low, which will drop on Sept. 13th. Sounds like this new album of theirs will be more refined and maybe subdued, if this single is an indication of it's overall style. Anyways here's the music video for the track - overall I'm digging it:
Just discovered this group, Amyl & the Sniffers, while checking out newer songs from King Gizz...Amyl are label mates of Gizz, as their debut self-titled album is out through Rough Trade/ATO Records/Flightless Records.
Recommended for any fans of messy, IDGAF rock/punk...Anyways here's their song Some Mutts (Can't be Muzzled):

New Vida Blue!!
In 2001, Phish were in an extended hiatus, and the band’s piano player Page McConnell was looking for a new challenge. Then he went to see the Funky Meters play New York City’s Irving Plaza. Watching his friend Russell Batiste Jr. drum behind the R&B legends, McConnell says, “It just kind of hit me: ‘I know Russell, I could ask him to be in a band with me. I think the next week, I went to see the Allman Brothers and saw Oteil.” McConnell is referring to bass virtuoso Oteil Burbridge, who now tours with Dead & Company. They formed Vida Blue, a keyboard-drum-bass trio that delved deep into electronic sounds that McConnell had long wanted to explore. “As much as I love synthesizers, it’s hard for me to introduce [them] into the Phish world, because I’ve already got the keyboard and organ. I just wanted a place to be able to experiment a little bit more.” Vida Blue only existed until 2004. That changes today: The band is releasing a new song “Analog Delay,” a psych-funk epic that has McConnell reflecting on his musical revelations as a teenager. It features guitarist Adam Zimmon, who has joined McConnell on other solo projects. Vida Blue will release their new album Crossing Lines on September 20th.
saw these guys at bonnaroo 2004. fuckin' cool shit. glad they are putting some new music out.
Was totally asleep on the fact that Russian Circles will be releasing a new album next month...Blood Year will be released next Friday, August 2nd, on Sargent House.
Anyways several tracks have been released ahead of the album, but I'm really digging their latest - "Kohokia." Love the mix and production on their new batch of tunes, which is unsurprising since the group usually delivers
New single by Quebec Artist MUNYA (Josianne Boivin) came out this week entitled "Dove."
For those who are fans of bands such as Barrie and Men I Trust, you will dig MUNYA. MUNYA has that same super chill, groove/melancholy vibe...Only catch is most of her material is sung in French but still does the trick.
