1. Brand New - Science Fiction Can't stop listening to this album, granted I am a pretty big fan of the band. I think it's arguably their best album. I'm no production expert but it sounds fantastic. If the rumors are true, it's an excellent end to their career. Had a very difficult time choosing between these first two albums. My decision pretty much changes on a day to day basis.
2. Queens of the Stone Age - Villains
3. Grizzly Bear - Painted Ruins
4. The War On Drugs - A Deeper Understanding
5. Brockhampton - Saturation II
HM: together PANGEA - Bulls and Roosters, Oh Sees - Orc, Iron & Wine - Beast Epic, The Districts - Popular Manipulations

It's okay. I placed a lot of money on this record being one of the years best. It's gonna be a top 30-50, I think. The drummer quitting before tour is gonna hurt those chances even more.
It's between TWoD, BROCKHAMPTON, and EMA for me. Really thinking it's gonna go to TWoD though. We have until next Friday, right?
I'm down to The War on Drugs, Queens of the Stone Age, and Rainer Maria, with Brand New and Filthy Friends still having an outside shot. It's one of the few times I haven't been decided this late in the month.
It's been my choice for a while, but I wanted to hear the other albums to be fair. Lot of HMs this month as I couldn't exclude any of them.
HM:
Everything Everything - A Fever Dream Sannhet - So Numb UNKLE - The Road Part 1 Rafael Anton Irisarri - The Shameless Years Portico Quartet - Art in the Age of Automation Daniel Caesar - Freudian Liars - TFCF The War on Drugs - A Deeper Understanding Downtown Boys - Cost of Living BROCKHAMPTON - Saturation II Vijay Iyer Sextet - Far From Over Iron & Wine - Beast Epic
Special HM: This was released on 06/30, but I discovered it this month, and liked it a lot. One of the best bleep-bloops of 2017, IMO.
Nadia Struiwigh - Lenticular

Casual poll for the assembled masses: How many new albums do you listen to in a typical month?
As of late, I try to listen to as many new albums as possible. Looking at the statistics from my last.fm account, the number is almost 100 for the past month.
I did a lot of writing the past month though, so on average I'd say 50-60 for me.

it's dictated by the release cycle. I'd say I listen to at least one new album a week and generally more like four to six; upper limit is probably somewhere around eight or ten. It really depends on what has been released recently and how many good or interesting reviews I see.

same. listen more at work than home, plus it's split with listening to other stuff for the xth time.

I usually have a queue of about 4 or 5 I go through on fridays, then relisten to the ones I liked throughout the week, keeping an eye on now playing to see what I've missed. So I guess about 16-20ish a month, depending on the month. My spreadsheet says I'm at 140 releases this year, but I forgot to fill it out for April and have been too busy to go back.
