Honestly, that's a solid and valid opinion. I just LOVE them, so I'm over the moon about seeing them, even when I'm settling for no Kim Deal.
I have seen them twice without Kim, and have tickets to see them a third time in May.. Its still a great show.
I saw them last time they played SK. Kim was my favorite part of The Pixies, but I didn't even really miss her during the show. That sounds crazy to say, but that's how it was.
Yeah, we are all in agreement on this (except for T.) I am quite excited for round two on Pixies. I wish they would tour and come down here to Tampa or Orlando and play a real show so that I would't keep getting abbreviated festival sets.

I wish more than anything they'd get Animal Collective to fill that spot. They'd be perfect and it looks like the dates would work out perfect too. Or King Gizz, but idk if they'll be in the US during that time.
You should be able to open that in Google Maps on your phone and it will show you what landmark you are close to. My project this coming week will be to annotate all of my listings so out-of-towners will know what the hell I'm recommending.
edit: OK I added my notes to the bars and restaurants sections. Can someone tell me if they can see them, please?

Hello fellow inforoovians! This looks like its gonna be my first year since my first roo in '06 that I won't be able to make it to a camping festival (9 of those years being roo). Coachella is the only lineup I deem worthy of the camping festivals this year but that may just be too much cost/effort coming from the east coast. So I am seriously considering Shaky Knees and looking forward to following this thread the next few months. At 30 years old I'm starting to realize that all of my favorite bands peaked from 2005-2010, and this is making me feel old . But hey, this fest looks great for a city festival.
Bummer, I hope they get the help they need. Mental illness is hard to come out about, good on them.
My guess (hope) for their replacement is Alvvays or Black Pistol Fire.
huge bummer, was really looking forward to finally see them live. but I respect them for the decision and wish them all to make progress in getting better.
that being said.............as much as I hope a good band like Wavves, White Reaper, or Rainbow Kitten Surprise fills that slot (I guess only Wavves is on the same level as MOBO), a part of hopes I don't like them so I can free up more time lol. Friday is slammed. I will die from exhaustion.

Enough about bands... where should I EAT when in Atlanta? First time in the city
When I visited ATL I was very impressed by this spot called Neighborhood Eats on the first floor of a business office. We ended up going back 3x's within the week and I usually love trying new things. Amazing options, tasted fantastic, and very affordable.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

That place is very good! The guy that owns it gives the best customer service i've ever seen. Definitely worth a check out. For pizza, I like Fellinis. For Mexican/cuban go to La Fonda. Realllly good burgers at the Vortex.

Gotta Go with Bocada, Holman and Finch, or the late night burger at Marcel all being much better than Vortex, while Vortex is still pretty solid.
All of those are reasonably close to downtown.
For Mexican i really like Bone Garden, Nuevo Laredo, and No Mas Cantina if you are looking for something pretty close to downtown.
BBQ - Fox Bros, but they will be at the festival, also great guys who were down partying in Mexico for MMJ One Big Holiday when i was there a few weeks ago.
This is all subjective but these are places you can guarantee some good eats
