So many things. 1) What the fuck happened over the offseason to where this ever increasing number of players forgot that you score the touchdown before you forget about ball security. Jesus Christ. 2) Ain't no celebration like a kicker celebration. dailysnark.com/unc-kicker-drills-53-yard-game-winning-fg-runs-entire-length-field-fsu-chop/ 3) I think Butch Jones' reaction says it all.
Lamar Jackson is the real deal. But motherfuckers forgot about Deshaun Watson. Did they think he was suddenly not as good anymore? He always plays better in the big games. What a game. What a win.
So congrats to Clemson for the win, but was it really a rush the field situation? I mean you're the national runner up playing a team ranked 2 higher than you...

People still don't get this. People go on the field after every game at Clemson. That's just something they've always done. Of course there was more of a rush and excitement at the end of the game last night. But this is something that happens every game.

Didn't realize it was a thing.
A lot of schools get fined by the league office if they rush the field. Do you know that works with Clemson? Do they have a special arrangement or something?
He threw 3 int's but one wasn't his fault it hit the wr's hands, he bobbled and they picked it off. Let's not forget 5 tds, 300 yards passing, almost 100 rushing. Let's not forget how good Louisville's defense is supposed to be. Also let's not forget Watson's record as a starting qb.He has only lost twice. Alabama, where he definitely played well enough to win and a game at GT 2 years ago where he got hurt and didn't finish the game. It was just so frustrating all week to hear all the talk about Jackson like they totally forgot how good Watson is. Now all the talk will be back about him and Clemson because he played better and won the game.

I'm not really sure. It's just something that's always happened. custeph might know more.

Just as an FYI, a friend works security for Tennessee games. After the Florida game, every available security and police ringed the field to keep people from rushing it because the fine would have been insane.

It's called the Gathering at the Paw & Clemson fans have been doing it since at least the 70s. My kids almost always do it. We've had the same meetup spot in the end zone on the paw for years. Players give kids gloves, armbands, towels, etc. They autograph hats, jerseys, footballs & such. They pose for photos with them. For lots of kids, it's their favorite part of the game. Everyone meets at the paw to sing the alma mater together. Kids throw footballs with friends, siblings, parents. It's just a fun way to end the day. And sometimes it's the easiest way to leave the stadium.
There are no fines. I think we are one of the only schools to do it like this. Opposing teams who win there (which hasn't happened in last 19 homes games) can rush the field as well. It's just one of our traditions. We ended up getting automatic lowering goalposts bc we always go on the field & after big wins they would rush the goalposts & it got too costly to replace them.
A roller coaster day for college football fans. Jimbo Fisher takes a big step closer, in his quest to coach LSU. Texas and coach Strong's defense are a huge let down, even more disappointing to see 3 extra points blocked. The basics are not being performed correctly and so Strong will not be coaching at UT much longer. SMH. The UT/GA game was a great opener to a great HL. I say HL, because that Louisville/Clemson game felt like a championship/playoff caliber game. I love Saturdays in the Fall!!!

I saw somewhere that Texas's AD stated Strong would be coaching through the end of the season guaranteed, but I agree with you that it is looking more and more likely that that'll be the end of his tenure unless he pulls out some crazy stuff between now and then.
Clemson: either you went, or its now your second favorite team because of custeph
and also, if you ever get a chance to go to a game, there really is something special about Death Valley and Clemson fans. I don't even like football (I know) but I will never miss a Clemson game if I can help it, it just gets in your blood!

Things really flipped for Texas. Looks like Strong will be out after the season. Could Les Miles be the next guy for UT?
Miles will probably take a step down job for a year or three. I think Texas will back up the money truck to Herman's house despite what he said last year about wanting to stay in Houston if they match what they did last season. Texas donors have deep pockets, so I couldn't see them going after a coach who will be seen as being on the decline especially since they are getting further and further from years where they were relevant to the Big 12 championship discussion.

Well, coming into the game Jackson looked like the better player. He came out of nowhere and put up absurd numbers, in TDs, pass YDs, and Rush YDs. As a clemson fan I guess you can be frustrated all you want, but Lamar Jackson had s hiz ton of well-deserved hype coming into that game. People forgot how good Watson was because he hasn't really been that good this year. the clemson offense has been pretty anemic so far this year.
All the talk may be about him and clemson for now, but if you think Watson played better than Jackson you are crazy. You talk about the vaunted clemson D, but he made them look silly at times. threw for 295 yards and ran for another 165. Watson won the game, but Jackson was definitely the better player and I still think he is the leading Heisman candidate at this point.

For example, no player has ever been responsible for as many touchdowns (28) through the first four games of a season as Jackson has. He has five more rushing touchdowns than any other player in the country. That includes running backs.

It is absolutely ridiculous to me that Texas is going to fire Charlie Strong. They never wanted him to succeed in the first place. Texas has had 1 draft pick in the last 3 years. TEXAS! ONE! And that's Charlie's fault, how?
I think Tom Herman is a better coach than Charlie and if they can get him, then I guess I'd understand it, but I will still be bitter that they never game him a fair chance.
You want to know how to have every advantage in the world and quack it up? Hire the wrong coach. It's happening so many places right now, and a lot of that is because people are impatient. It's almost as if it takes time and care to build a winning program, even if you are Texas.
