Speaking of next weekend, with GameDay, Checker Neyland, all the hype, and Del Rio's injury, I am more nervous about the game than I was before. All signs point to Appleby having his Heisman coming-out party at Neyland on Saturday.
The end of that UT-Cal game was such bs. That dumbass fumbled the ball at the 1 and yet the refs still protected them by giving them back the ball at the 1. Should've been Texas ball at the 20 with 1:21 left. I'm moving on but it's still some fucking bullshit on the refs.

Actually i'll probably not move on from that. The rest of the season i'm going to be thinking this was the game that got taken away. I think this goes down the rabbit hole of a deep hatred the Pac 12 has for the Big 12 and UT in particular for not leaving and joining them and Fox. They know that at the end of the year it'll come down to should the Pac-12 with Stanford or Washington be in the Playoff or should it be (or what could have been) Texas or Baylor repping the Big 12 in the Playoff.

Dude it was a big 12 officiating crew.
And you guys punted on 4th down and 1:40 left. when Cal was trying to run out the clock you let them have a 55 yard rushing touchdown. it was sheer luck for you that he dropped the ball anyways, you had no business winning that game at that point.

After some more research on it, my mistake, it was a Big 12 crew. But i remember the announcer say something about it being a Pac 12 crew upstairs or something.
Luck, sure, but it still happened and was the wrong call. I was listening to Mike Pereira talk about it on the Rich Eisen Show today and they said the same thing. Plus, "immediate continuing action" to picking up a fumble is such a vague rule. #14 of UT picked it up within 3 seconds of the guy dropping it. That should be within the "immediate continuing action" zone. The same crew made a similar fuck up last year in the K State vs OK State game. And on top of all that, they also gave that Cal WR #6 a catch where he didn't even have complete possession of the ball when he came down. That crew is garbooge.
^ When you allow 400 yards passing, you lose. The Texas defense lost that game, not the refs.
Speaking of Austin, He maybe a backup, but he has 11 starts as a Boilermaker. I know nothing about those starts, but I am sure he can throw the ball. If we can give him some time to do that, then be able to run the ball some, OL will need to step it up, Defense will keep us in it and with UT wearing the smoky uniforms, I am confident in our Gators this week.

He threw as many INTs as TDs and got benched in his fourth start in his second season. Purdue is a total dumpster fire of a program though. We have enough depth and skill on our DL to hopefully get some good pressure on him, because we just lost an all-SEC CB and his replacement last week got burned a couple times. I'm sure y'all are gonna be run heavy with your four RB regardless, which is also bad because we are thin at LB. Before the injuries I had no worries about how our D matched up with your offense, even with Del Rio.
I imagine UF is gonna load the box and dare us to throw it. Our OL has been anemic this year, especially frustrating since they are all returning players. We will need Dobbs to be the elusive dual threat he has shown he can be and use the aggression of the UF D to our advantage, because we can't give him protection enough to throw it from the pocket. We have more and better offensive play makers, but DeBord has been predictable and bad at getting them the ball. If that continues we won't get enough points to win, even if our D shuts y'all down.
Vegas lines have O/U at 43.5. I'd take the under. It's gonna be ugly.

I saw he was 19TD and 19INT, but I chalk that up because it was at Purdue. Having 11 starts is a lot better, than a back up with no college experience though, so that does not bother me. If, and this is a big IF, if our OL blocks we will move the ball. I think our OL can do a lot better then they have played previously and will need to, but that could be said about every game and any team. Blocking that is. We will need to contain dobbs, and we will need to capitalize on when he makes a mistake. Which he will, great player, but he seems to make one bonehead play each game. (OT fumble against App st) With that, i think it will come down to special teams, win that battle, win this game.

I was tweeting about it this morning, but oddly enough...I am more excited for the VT game this week compared to the UF/UT matchup. I know the Vols struggled last week, and they always play bad against Florida. Having to roll with a backup QB though in Neyland is going to be an offensive struggle for UF. They have run the ball very well so far this season but have had 3 easy opponents.
Over the last four games between VT/ECU, they're 2-2 against each other with every game ending in a one score difference. ECU has already beat NC State, they also only lost by 5 to South Carolina. Evans/Fuente have the offense coming along quicker than I expected, just can't have the awful turnovers.
Not even 100% sure if I am going or not, but I booked a hotel within walking distance to Fedex Field this morning for the VT/WVU game next year.

I saw an article that Fulmer and Spurrier could be the guest pickers today on Gameday. Not gonna lie. That'd be an #allthefeels moment for me.
Also, the ladyfriend's ex-pastor (he quit due to burnout) and his family run a donut shop in town now. They made a delivery this morning to Desmond Howard. This is double nice because they're from Michigan and are Wolverine fans.
I've basically decided I'm not watching games this year. It's not healthy for me. I turn into Randy Quaid in Major League real quick. That being said, I would like to point out it was the Tennessee fans on here who expressed the most doubts about their chances before the game.
