I thought for weeks I would pull the deep sleeper vote of local band Brass Bed. Then Deakin happened, and I was going to give him the win.
But I just watched Lemonade. Jay Z was running in the Dome! They filmed so many scenes in my parking garage (I'm 90% sure it's my garage). And the music is good
You guys will probably tar and feather me but I like Surgill more than Beyoncé. Her album is great and rounds out my top 5 for favorite albums this year. But I'm not quite as crazy about it as everybody else. Edit: I am sure I'd like it more but I only listened once through google docs. So it's not very fluid. I'm waiting for the wide release. Will there be a physical copy?
I probably won't vote for Beyonce, despite my love of the HBO special, because I don't ever see myself listening to the album. I love the concept, I absolutely love the visuals, and the music is good. But, I don't think it's the best my favorite album this month.
I'm thinking maybe less. This exclusivity is gonna force you to either have TIDAL or just steal it. There won't be casual listening till it starts to pop up elsewhere.
It's a week and a half before the deadline and there's at least a half dozen votes for Beyonce.
Knowing the hard on Inforoo has for Bey, 20 might be conservative.
Chance the Rapper's next album is rumored to be out April 30th...ya'll are voting too early.
Edit: And Views too, as tristvn noted.

Fun Fact: I went to the same high school as Aubrey, 1 year ahead of him. I actually like quite a bit of his music and take a little pride in the fact that he's putting Toronto (and Canada in general) on the map... but knowing EXACTLY where/how he grew up makes it extremely hard to take his bitch ass seriously, especially when I hear gun shots and hard talk on his albums lol. Drake is a delicate little snowflake, with the credentials to prove it.

I came in here to vote for Lemonade but I will hold off to see about Chance... did nobody here care for Junk? After a lot of listening that's definitely getting an HM from me.

Went in listening to Moderat's new album with slightly lowered expectations, and I am surprised how much I enjoyed it. Leon Vynehall, Beyonce, Tim Hecker, and Moderat are my front-runners so far.

I wish I could get into this Deakin album! I thought it was awful on the first listen and I just tried to listen again and I had to turn it off halfway through Footy because I just couldn't take it anymore. I want to like it but I just don't think it's for me.
