my sister saw Rainbow Kitty last night and sent me a video of Cocain Jesus, sounded pretty good. She said they were even better live and played for as a jam band.
"played for as a jam band"...?
The level of literacy one might expect from a fan of a band named "Rainbow Kitten Surprise"

Not going to pad rows with an addition or with a 3 I want to see at pre-party because I'm not going. But the 5 acts I like best are: 1) Sigur Ros; 2) Chance the Rapper 3) A$AP Ferg, 4) Shaggy, 5) Weezer. Hatred goes out to Lil Yachty (though he admits he can't rap) and particularly Louis the Child. Also, no way this gets to 300 pages this year Krisp. You're not completely on your own for the fest, but you and S.S. are like the last 2 who are committed = page count going down correspondingly with the shittiness of the lineup.
Top 5: Sigur Ros, Frank, Warpaint, Weezer, Chance Hated: Lil' Yachty/21 Pilots Addition: CRX (Nick Valensi of The Strokes' new band), Car Seat Headrest, Beach Slang Pre Party: Vince Staples, The Floozies, Conor Oberst
I need to go back to my morning post... Top 5 - Mumford & Sons, Band of Horses, Franz Ferdinand, Weezer, The Head and The Heart. Hated - hate is to hard so I'll go with "wouldn't see" - Nightmre, Russ, and Lil Yachty. Additions - TTB, Mutemath, OCMS, John Prince, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Sturgill, any classic rock band. Pre-party I would drive down for without going to Hangout....TTB headliner, OCMS, Cheap Trick or other cheesy classic rock band, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Nate Ratliffe, and a couple tent rappers for folks who don't like my top five. Actually, driving down early, going to pre-party and hanging with the few Inforooers who are hanging out would be a good deal. Spend the weekend in Pensacola with my cousin.

Top 5: Weezer, Local Natives, Chance, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, and the head and the heart (chose ones I haven't seen live yet still excited for Mumford, band of horses and even 21 pilots but have seen all 3) Most hated- agree on lil yachty One addition- the lumineers Preparty- Nathaniel Rateliff and the Nightsweats, Logic, and Kid Cudi
Mumford, Chance, Weezer, Band of Horses, Frank Ferdinand top 5. Bottom? Lil' Yachty is the no brainer, but let's face it, there are lots of contenders.
No amount of turd polishing is gonna make this lineup look good, but remember: I thought the same thing last year, and when the schedule was dropped, I found that I had something to do all day every day. Unfortunately, what I mainly did was drink until I passed out in the sand, but it was glorious just the same.
I'll be there, I'll have a blast, and I'll buy my alumni tickets just like every other year.
Tops 5: Chance, Mumford, Weezer, Marshmello, Dillon Francis Worst: Charlie XcX Additions: Coin, some more artists from Sirius Alt Nation, Pre-Party: Nate Rateliff, Griz, Slushii
Undercard must see: Andrew McMahon & the Wilderness

I need to update my spreadsheet. How many bands are currently in the lineup?
Top 5: Weezer, Mumford, Major Lazer, Marshmello, Local Natives Hate: Lil Yachty Additions or Pre-Party: Shovels and Rope, Flosstradamus, Sleigh Bells, Wolf Alice, Slushii, The Arcs
Besides the Jack Daniels New Years Eve party in Nashville, OCMS sold out the Ryman, and just got a notice that Widespread Panic playing Bridgestone. Throw in bars, honkey tonks, and fireworks and Nashville should be grooving the New Years Eve. Anybody else got recon on a New Years Eve party in say NOLA, Memphis, Atlanta, or Pensacola?

If you are into Electronic music I know of a few different one. Pretty Lights will be in NOLA, Audiosonic NYE festival in Atlanta has Carnage and Datsik headlining and The Disco Biscuits are at The Tabernacle, and Bassnectar in Birmingham. Not sure of anything in Memphis or Pensacola going on.

Atlanta...find Bankhead neighborhood, park car, and lose keys. Proceed to get twisted and have a blast.
Can't remember the place but it was 2 levels and the 2nd had a damn garage/shop roll up door that opened to Downtown and we could all watch the Peach drop. Midnight I was making out with a girl from TN while my brother was on the bar with 2 girls drenching the crowd in cheap bubbly. And that's just the place we ended up at midnight.
If they still do the same the few blocks for the party are closed off to auto traffic so you can drag around without worry of cars and whatnot.

There is a thread in "shows" that has an overview of everything. We'll be doing Pretty Lights and then the Space Jesus Yhetti after party on the 30th, and then Pretty Lights and whatever else is after that on the 31st.

I wanted to come down for the PL show on the 30th and hit that Space Jesus after party but cant afford that travel down there and then over to B'ham the next day for Bassnectar. Looks like I'm doing the G Jones/Widdler show the night before and then Bassnectar and the ill.Gates/Stylust Beats after party.

I was unaware of these Pretty Lights NOLA shows. I may end up spending NYE in New Orleans (I've never been) this year because my old man wants to go to the Sugar Bowl. I may look into this as well now, definitely tempting.
