How I was feeling when those Arizona defensive players were getting upset at each other on the sidelines:
Good reference but do you have anything against them?
Obviously I'm biased as a Panthers fan, so seeing any sort of discord between our opponent would make me quite happy. It happened early in the game as well, to see a team lose the mental edge so quickly was nice for me.
I don't have anything personal against them, no. But from a competitive stand point, I was eating that shit up.

I have a couple cardinals friends. When we talk, there are two things that often get brought up unprovoked:
1) 2014 playoffs were a fluke, because 3rd string QB was enough to make the whole team lose (probably true, probably remains true)
2) 5 interception Delhomme. The shit talking that followed that mans meltdown was astounding.
After watching that game last night, I actually never have to hear any of that shit again because Cardinals fans do indeed have some class AND:
1) 49-15
2) 7 turnovers, based on the sharpie ink marks on my arm
The 2014 playoffs thing is true. Lindley is the devil. The defense did their part but Lindely just could not do anything. Still, it's strange that they still bring up Delhomme.

The 2014 playoffs thing is an excuse. It's an adorable excuse. It is a contributing factor to why you lost, and an excuse. A third tier QB can't be held responsible for the other team getting 4 touchdowns.
Delhomme is a generational conversation. It terrifies me to write this.

Are you saying short offensive drives aren't a legitimate reason for the defense to be exhausted and the opposing offense to get so many more chances? Let's be real, no team could ever win a playoff game with Ryan Lindely at QB.

I have watched that exact scenario play out in more games in even the cam era alone than I can think to remember. It is a large contributing factor to when a team collapses, but to hang that loss on Lindley's shoulders is not allowing the rest of the team to even matter.
Lindley had two picks in the 2014 match, how many did Palmer have last night? I'd think you blame a lot of it on him, but all of it seems like a homer visor.

What's sad is that the Cards had the chance to prove that the Lindley excuse was the reason for last year's playoff meltdown, then Carson Palmer put up a worse game than Lindley!
Statistically it was a marginal "victory" for Lindley. Even with 3 more turnovers Palmer finished with a 43.2 QBR. Ryan Lindley edged him out at 44.3

Lindely not throwing as many interceptions has to do with how uncatchable most of his balls are.
What happened was people forgot that Carson Palmer is not a great QB. He had a great season. But he's never been a winner.
This is pretty much how I saw it. I can remember how excited I was for Palmer as a Cincinnati fan during his first season as an NFL starter (he spent his rookie season behind Kitna). Then him hurting his ACL first play in the playoffs against the Steelers...I was devastated. I don't think he has ever looked the same.
He has put up great numbers (statistically and W/L record) with Bruce Arians (who I wish coached the Bengals)...but has never felt like a Super Bowl contender.
OMG that might be the most pathetic thing I've seen in all of sports. Seriously, how can a team that rolls out Richard Sherman every Sunday pull the "class" card?
I guess that's what happens when half of your fanbase are spoiled bandwagoners who began watching the NFL four years ago.

I usually like fans from other rival teams (Rams, 9ers) but I can't stand most Seahawks fans.
However, I will be pulling for Thomas Davis to win a Super Bowl. Growing up watching Davis and Greg Blue annihilate receivers was great.
It's pretty easy to not love them.
I realize that I just made this comment yesterday, but I'm warming up to the Panthers for the same reason I warmed up to Seattle two years ago: white conservative hatred of Cam Newton that is far too similar to hatred of Richard Sherman in 2014 before playing Denver. The more I hear or read about white conservative folks hating Cam Newton for his "cockiness" or for "show-boating", and doing everything they can to dismiss the notion that this has anything to do with race, the more I start rooting for the guy.
I'm at a crossroads here. If Carolina loses, these same folks are going to celebrate the failure of the "cocky" athlete who shows enthusiasm when winning. If Carolina wins, an NFC South rival becomes the Super Bowl champion. Lose lose.

What's wrong with Richard Sherman?
Nothing really, he talks shit occasionally, but I wouldn't say he is classless. Most of his shit talking banter is to get into the head of the receiver, as an example, him and Dez Bryant both said before the game last year that they understand the skill of one another and look forward to their matchup whilst still continuing to throw shots verbally at one another. It's a sport for christ's sake, shit talking is all apart of the game.

I like Sherman. Kind of a dick, but says a lot of truthful statements about the NFL that few players will say.
As a Packers fan, I have to wonder if we could have done better against the Panthers. Couldn't have done much worse... Oh well, that Cardinals/Packers game was still amazing even with an L.
Haven't decided who to root for in the Super Bowl. Manning's last ride or Newton's first? I'm kinda good either way as long as it isn't a blow out.

Doesn't matter, as nice as it would be to see Manning go out with a W, this game is going to be Superbowl 48 all over again. Expect Safeties and botched snaps and lofty balls in the hands of Norman and Keuchly. I don't mind the Panther's winning, I just wish it would be a competitive matchup

I guess I should clarify. I don't have any problems with Richard Sherman or the way he plays. IMO defensive backs should be huge trash talkers, they get one on one match-ups all day and should be able to get into their opponent's head.
My point is that the Seattle fanbase saw the "classless" tag get put on one of their best players very recently. They *should* be able to see how much bullshit those claims/attacks are.
