And goddamn I thought I was gonna use today to decide between Waxahatchee and Bop English, but this Young Fathers album is pretty damn good. I'm glad I blindly bought a ticket to see them in a week.

you're welcome!!
I never would have even heard of them had it not been for you. So, thanks! Credit where credit is due. Everyone on here should listen to Young Fathers at least a couple times.

I'm really sad I have to miss their show next weekend although I do get to see them the following weekend at hangout, it just isn't the same as seeing a show at the entry!

Festival shows and shows at tiny venues like 7th Street can never really compare in my opinion. For better or for worse. I'm glad you'll get to see them at all, but I'm also kinda bummed that we can't check out a show together again.
Side note, thanks for the Tobias Jesso Jr. text, but I didn't see it until I was finished with work, well after the offer had expired.
Wasn't a huge fan of Ivy Tripp and never got a chance to listen to Bop English. Mountain Goats was good but ultimately left me a little disappointed.
My early nod for May goes to Kamasi Washington - The Epic, but I'm looking forward to Django Django and My Morning Jacket for as well. What else is coming out?
For May I will continue to champion "The Epic" by Kamasi Washington. 3 hour jazz album from the the group that backed Kendrick on his new album (possibly on his tour). I believe it is incredible and even if you don't love jazz, you should still give it one listen through. A fitting companion piece to TPAB.
Soulful piano/jazz ballads. It's only an EP but I've been itching for a release from him since I caught him on Jools last year.
I want to bitch about you voting for an EP, but this is such soulful, good stuff - Jools is a great way to get hip to Brit/Euro stuff we haven't gotten yet. Especially jazz/soul types.

Before Spotify, YouTube etc Jools was as essential as your local record shop. He's broken so many deserved stars here.
