Any month that includes releases by Matthew E White, Föllakzoid, Liturgy, Lightning Bolt, GY!BE, Courtney Barnett, Jenny Hval, and Lower Dens is gonna be a stupid month. Any one of these could have been a AotM.
That Will Butler is the bee's knees, too.
E:Just saw Hval got pushed back till June.

I've been slow on listening to music lately, but I highly recommend the debut Nadastrom album for February. One of the members accidentally invented the moombahton genre, but this album ditches the moombah for more groovy house music. Really solid.
This one came outta nowhere to steal this month, nothing had really blown me away until Spectres and Sumac.
Spectres - Dying
HM: Sumac (close 2nd), Ghostface + BBNG, Father John Misty, and A Place to Bury Strangers
Can you tell us about it?
A noisy blend of post-rock and shoegaze with just a touch of krautrock groove. Definitely shoegaze-y, detached/almost dreamlike vocals. It's one of those that you've just got to turn the volume all the way up.
Oh, and yeah, I havnt really cared too much about new releases so far this year, so I'm not voting. that said, looking at the list for March, I can feel the hairs on the back of my neck standing up again. Maybe it's cuz of Jon Spencer, maybe it's Courtney Barnett, I dunno, but it looks like I'll be back in business.
The craziest thing is that I half expect it to be a landslide for Laura Marling, at least as far as I'm concerned.
I would think this normally, but man there are albums from Modest Mouse and Sufjan Stevens coming out this month too. Plus, the two lead singles from the Simon Joyner and Courtney Barnett albums are fantastic.
