Quack Club is a gathering of anywhere from 16- 28 music loving people from all over the country of all ages that live under one roof for anywhere from 3 - 7 days centered around NFF and never a harsh word is spoken. We eats, drinks, have a whole lot of merry merry laugh laugh laugh, take the 'special bus' together to and from NFF, and occasionally there is even sleep.
We started with silly name tags so folks would know where 'home' is if they got toasted and separated. Last year one of the QCers made really nice laminates that if nothing else made good conversation starters. He will be making new ones for this year that "will look a Lot more like real credentials if you know what I mean". : )
Quacker and i accidentally got into (read unknowingly walked into) the back stage area at Roo where the artists arrive in 2012 with little more than paper badges hanging around our necks. They let us right in.
I noticed that as well. That seems to agree with fawn's point given the email.
Fine by me, Friday is pretty stacked for me: Mandolin Orange, Phox, Reignwolf, Lake Street Dive, Jenny Lewis, Jimmy Cliff, Band of Horses, and Ryan Adams (all at different tiers on the lineup and hopefully little overlap) sounds like a great day to me.
Now to balance out Sunday. Still the day I am currently least excited about. Although I'm sure they'll add more conflicts for me on Saturday first.
Probably Saturday. Aoife O'Donovan is the only artist on the day I have no interest in seeing. Nickel Creek is at the top of my bucket list (although right next to Ryan Adams!).
Although, that means I am going to be going crazy in conflict city on Saturday. I don't know how I am going to do it. So maybe I should automatically rank Friday higher for not causing me that inner turmoil.
Saturday is by far the best lineup for me - excited, really pumped, for almost everything but a handful. And I still have hopes for some decent adds to wrap this up.
also, I posted above that I was holding out hope for Head and the Heart, even with a Hawaii show a few days later. They've since announced shows that directly conflict, so no chance...
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Yeah I've been updating each Friday. I might be missing one or two that aren't on Spotify (I know Shakey Graves is one). It's not in the lineup order, just an order I like. There are some artists who I have multiple songs by. But here it is if you want it: here
I've also been making a playlist with the artists as they get announced. It's basically 2-4 of my favorite songs from each artist on the lineup. I'll share the link with you all later tonight.
It's worth noting that Puss N Boots do kind of have a song on Spotify. If you look up Norah Jones' "...Featuring" album, there's a song called "Bull Rider" that features Sasha Dobson. That's 2/3 of Puss N Boots, and it's a song that they play when performing under the moniker Puss N Boots (I even read an article that expects the song to be on the full length when they release it).
Also, Willie Watson's new album comes out next Tuesday. So if it gets uploaded to Spotify, you should be able to find some of his tunes by the end of next week.
Finally, it's kind of cheating, but I put a Grateful Dead version of a Robert Hunter written tune on my playlist.
That makes 19 "acts" announced for Sunday. I guess that could technically wrap Sunday up just like the Museum Stage announcement wrapped Friday up. Then they could make the last 4 Saturday announcements next week to finish everything off.
I'm still holding out hope for one more additional early Sunday act that I really want to see. The "More To Be Announced" is still at the bottom of Sunday, but they left it up for Friday too for a few days before removing it.

Thought I'd add my two cents to the Jack White speculation.
Back before any of the lineup started rolling out I posted on NFF's Facebook page suggesting him. I noticed a ton of other posts around that time were actually getting responses back if they couldn't book an act. "Sorry, they are busy that day"/"Why don't you mention it to the band"/"They don't want to play", things like that. Any time they didn't respond was if the artist was already on the bill (Shakey Graves, Conor Oberst/Dawes). When I made my suggestion... no response. I know that much to go on, but still!
Then as time went on and more evidence started coming out (new album, tour dates, Benjamin Booker, Third Man artists), I posted all my evidence on their Facebook page, gunning for Jack again. I checked back the next day for a response and noticed that they deleted my post. Maybe they don't want the surprise ruined, maybe something else. I also had a dream last night that he was added, if that means anything...
Ok--I am really excited about Hamilton Leithauser! Is the museum stage a smaller stage? Is it more of a solo artist thing or do full bands play there? Do they have a separate schedule for this stage? Can't wait to see him!

Yeah I've noticed that trend as well.
I also left a comment on the NFF twitter asking what the odds of John Prine are and never got a response back either....that was on 2/19
