The question at hand is about morality of the issue not legality. Legality is black and white and morality is a billion shades of grey. There for any discussion of morality is going to be extremely arbitrary right?
Well, when you sell a ticket for more than face value do you report the earnings on your income taxes?
Do you report every online purchase you make where they don't bill you taxes at the point of sale? In 44 of our states your supposed too.

Big difference between grey and arbitrary.
It's easy to justify something to yourself by saying "I have good intentions! I'm gonna buy their album next month, i swear!"
Wait, do movie studios not make money off of their films?
Not according to their accountants.
Ok, horn. Let's say I leave the flask at home. Is it wrong that I don't tip the lacrosse team? All they did was hand me a pre-poured beer, and I need to conserve my cash so I can drink a dozen of them.

If I go into a bar/restaurant to pick up some takeout food that I ordered I don't usually tip the bartender or host/hostess who hands me the food.
Should the "carside to go" employees at Applebee's be tipped for walking the food out to my car? Should it be less than what one would normally tip a waiter?

Is it okay to judge the eating habits of others? For instance, if you see someone eating a cheeseburger is it ok to recite the nutritional facts to them?

Haven't gotten it in a long time.....but I got a gift card on Christmas and was going to do that carside to go the other night. The last time I did that I was criticized for not tipping the people who walk the food out to my car.

Why didn't you just walk in? I don't understand how this works. Do you just honk when you get there or something?
Why should I tip the driver when they're already charging me $3 for delivery?
Because they (formerly we) get paid under minimum wage and incur expenses with the car and usually don't see a cent of that "delivery fee." It's a shitty system, but if I don't feel like tipping I don't order delivery. As a broke college student there were feelings more disheartening than driving $40 worth of food 10 minutes away (read 20 minute round trip) and getting nothing. When delivery places compensate for gas and pay above minimum wage maybe tipping won't be expected.

The majority of people do not tip for takeout. It is not expected for you to do so in most establishments but it is up to you if you feel alright doing so or not. At places i frequent regularly for pick up I will tip around 10% versus sit down / bar where 20% or more is customary and expected.

To be honest, I still am not sure how it totally works but I do know that it's a promotion thing they throw out there. Like "hey...looking to be extra lazy? We'll bring the food out to you" type of thing.
When you call the order in they ask for the make/model of your car and have an employee who I guess monitors those few parking spots or something. You pull in and someone walks out with the bill/food. I am pretty sure that Applebee's is the only type of chain restaurants that do this but I could be wrong, and I don't think all Applebee's have it.
It's a strange concept and I didn't know I was supposed to/expected to tip the worker who walked it out to me.
When you wake up next to the slightly more unattractive person than you were talking to last night do you have to drive them home or is calling a cab enough?
Is tipping cab drivers in corn acceptable or dangerous for the next customers?
Same question except jimmy johns drivers (you know cause they will nom all their food)?

There are a lot of awful chain restaurants that have similar carside takeout set ups. I worked for a delivery service that picked up terrible chain food and delivered it to lazy suburbanites.
My fiancée worked Applebee's carside in college. They make a normal hourly wage, and it's a really easy job, so you're probably fine leaving a buck or two. She was consistently surprised by how much people left her.

Cab is fine but you are responsible for paying for it.
I was really hoping the guy who derailed another thread with "You pirated a movie??? You're a THIEF! That's STEALING" would show up. I'm wondering what he would have to say about grey areas.

Well Pirating is stealing. The grey only applies to whether the theft is ethically right or wrong in the eyes of the individual stealing. In the end, that moral determination will be a arbitrary decision made by that person forming their justification or denouncement of their actions.
Cheesecake Factory (at least mine) has curbside. I've helped them out a few times over the years when the curbside person called out, and I would say 80% of the people doing curbside delivery tip. But usually only a dollar or two. The cashiers who do the regular takeout get a tip every once in awhile. I think they usually get 20-30 bucks with 1,000 in sales on a busy night. For both- people usually tip more if they have especially large or difficult orders (extra dressings, etc). I've seen as much as a 30 dollar tip on a curbside (but it was like a 300 dollar order).
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
