I usually can't stand the Seminoles but here's something about Famous Jameis that gets me so hyped
I think it's funny because he hasn't played a game yet.
Exactly. I've only seen youtube videos of him yelling at cameras and throwing footballs over frat houses. Why do I suddenly feel attached to this dude?

I don't understand what you guys are arguing. it says 7 on the list. I didn't make the list.
You are looking at the wrong list. FSU only officially claims two. Why do you (a Clemson fan) claim more than the school?
the list is on that same page. the same one that says Princeton has the most. I'm not claiming anything. they've won 7 championships from various publications. was trying to avoid posting the entire list but apparently you are not seeing it.
School Championships Princeton 28 Yale 27 Michigan 22 Notre Dame 22 Alabama 19 Oklahoma 17 USC 17 Ohio State 14 Harvard 12 Nebraska 11 Pittsburgh 11 Miami 9 Texas 9 LSU 8 Florida State 7 Minnesota 7 Penn State 7 Tennessee 7 Georgia Tech 6 Michigan State 6 Penn 6 Army 5 Auburn 5 California 5 Cornell 5 Florida 5 Georgia 5 Illinois 5 Iowa 4 Washington 4 Lafayette 3 Mississippi 3 SMU 3 Texas A&M 3 Arizona State 2 Arkansas 2 Chicago 2 Maryland 2 Missouri 2 Stanford 2 TCU 2 BYU 1 Centre 1 Clemson 1 Colgate 1 Colorado 1 Columbia 1 Dartmouth 1 Detroit 1 Kentucky 1 Navy 1 Oklahoma State 1 Purdue 1 Rutgers 1 Syracuse 1 UCLA 1 Utah 1 Washington & Jefferson 1 Wisconsin 1
Jesus Christ. Of course I see that one. That is not the list of National Championships claims by the school, which is what you originally said was 7 for FSU. That number is 2.

how many times did I need to say that was the list I was referring to? damn, the whole point was no, FSU and Maryland are not equal, not at all.

I'm not trying to start sh*t, but can't you see that is a nonsense list if the school will not even claim those "other 5 national championships?" You originally said FSU claimed 7, and I was simply pointing out that they, in fact, do not.

the fact that this started off with Dave pointing out that Princeton has won the most and is the best by the measure should have told you not to take this so seriously. my post was 100% about Maryland not being in the same league as FSU, not even jokingly.

Of course they're not. Holy crap, sang. I don't know if you're having trouble expressing yourself in this thread or if you just don't understand college football.
However - it's important to note that no one gives a sh*t about that one particular list you keep referring to. # championships claimed by FSU - 2. # claimed by MD - 2. That was the only point I was making. But since you have a bee in your bonnet for MD you took a goofy aside (though researched and factual) to someone else's post and turned it into a steaming pile.

Yes, I believe we can all agree that Maryland sucks.
They sure do. That has nothing to do with my posts. So now I have to root against Clemson AND Tennessee? Don't make me start running around yelling War Eagle or Roll Tide or some nonsense.

If I can listen to Sang run his mouth about UT constantly, I can handle you too. I mean you, at least, have a functional understanding of college football unlike him.
Also, to do it right, you occasionally have to make it "War Damn Eagle!"
for the purposes of what we were actually talking about, Tom was wrong. FSU has been awarded a national championship 7 times. they may only claim 2 outright, but that doesn't change the fact. let's take the case of 1987, 1987 Florida State 11–1 Bobby Bowden B(QPRS) Miami 12–0 Jimmy Johnson AP, BR, CFRA, DeS, DuS, ERS, FN, FWAA, MGR, NCF, NFF, NYT, R(FACT), SN, SR, UPI, USAT/CNN. Miami won the national championship that year, they beat FSU and most publications considered them the champion, but there was still one that awarded it to FSU. why? I have no idea, but they did regardless. this also happened in 80,92,94,96. so they only claim 2 of those, rightly so. but let's look at Maryland (since that was my whole point). out of the 2 that they claim, 1 was for an undefeated regular season, but they lost in the bowl game. the other was awarded to them years after the fact by the Sagarin computers. so even if we were to say they have both won 2, FSU's were more legitimate. Tom you're wrong. Maryland sucks.

You spent all of last night vehemently arguing you were right when people were trying to show you, using facts, that you were wrong. It's just funny, is all.
I wasn't wrong though. I said I was basing it on that list all along. I realize that they only claim 2 of them because those were the 2 they won outright. unlike Maryland.
