If it isn't officially considered a 2012 release I vote for Parquet Courts - Light Up Gold as Album of the Month. I believe the nationwide release was January 15.
I would have to go with Foxygen, but it's a tough choice, Fidlar and California X are great finds as well. So far so good for 2013. A couple huge months to come, as far as album releases go. I'm excite!!!

Oh wow, buzzer-beater win for Foxygen! Inforoo's Album of the Month for January 2013:
I'll make a post that I'll keep updated with the tally for this month, just for the fun of it:
Foxygen - We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace & Magic: 5 California X - California X: 4 Local Natives - Hummingbird: 4 A$AP Rocky - LONG.LIVE.A$AP: 3 FIDLAR - FIDLAR: 3 Tomahawk - Oddfellows: 2 Follakzoid - II: 2 Blaudzun - Heavy Flowers: 2 Toro y Moi - Anything in Return: 2 Anais Mitchell & Jefferson Hamer - Child Ballads: 1 Biffy Clyro - Opposites: 1 Parquet Courts - Light Up Gold: 1
1.Local Natives-Hummingbird 2.California X- 3.Foxygen-We Are The 21st Century Ambassadors Of Peace & Magic 4.The Joy Formidable-Wolf's Law 5.Raekwon- Lost Jewlry 6.Tomahawk-Oddfellows
Team X made a strong effort today, but BONEROO RUINED EVERYTHING.
I was very close to giving my vote to California X. I love that bands like this are still killin it. I enjoyed Foxygens album more, but FWIW, say the two were conflicts at roo, I'm pretty sure I'd be seeing California X
Really surprised nobody voted for the new Yo La Tengo for January; Fade is their best album in years.
Oh heck. I forgot about that somehow. I guess because nobody else mentioned it here. I would have voted for it. I know Parquet Courts was out in '12, but the official nationwide release date shows to be Jan 15 of this year.
Dont know where to post this but I thought this might be the best place. I would start the thread I am about to suggest but I am too lazy to keep up with it all. I think we should have an "Inforoo Grammy Thread" where we get a group of regular posters and have a nominating process (all the main categories at the grammys, maybe even have our own categories as well) and then have a the board vote on the nominees on each category. If anyone want to start it and control it go ahead. Thought I would just throw the idea out there. I think it could be fun. Sorry about posting in this thread

Have you apologized for Bryan Adams yet? That is one of your civic duties, right?
I apologies for Celiene Dion I feel that is a much greater offence. Not only has she taken up residence in your sacred Las Vegas, but she's French too. Brian Adams is small beans is comparison. Oh, and sorry about Nickelback while I'm at it..

I can't see this changing.
Unless Pitchfork rates an album higher this month, because you know, that's the only way I make decisions about things of this nature. Being a puppet isn't all bad.

If you have a problem with Canadians, I'm sure there's a way we can talk through it and settle our differences buddy. There's no need for quarrel here friend.
