First off, as a resident of des plaines, right next to Rosemont, I'd like to dispute that Rosemont is lame. The blue line comes out here, so access to the city is incredibly easy. There is a brand new five star casino, and a slew of brand new bars here, so the night life is more than enough to keep you happy.
If you plan to be drinking in wrigleyville though, than I would try to find a nice hotel as close to the stadium as possible.
I didn't mean to offend you. I had a wedding in Rosemont last summer and went out to the bars after, it was not for me. To be fair I probably wouldn't enjoy hanging out in any suburb.
it's cool. I wasn't offended. although there is a lot of new stuff since you were last out here.
Also, I feel the same way about the city. I love going in, but would never want to live in it. Too much commotion.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome.
Wicker can be a fun area depending on what you're looking for. No shortage of awesome restaurants, trendy bars, and hipsters. You would be about a $10-$15 cab ride from either the ballpark or downtown depending on exactly where you're staying in Wicker. You could do public transportation for much cheaper ($2-3) but it would likely require a combination of multiple trains and/or buses and take much longer. Hope that helps

Brutal. I put in an hour trying to get London tickets this morning (my partner managed to get some) and then another hour for Wrigley. I didn't even make it past the "waiting rooms".
