I thought it was insane nobody else around me saw it either. It did feel like way longer then that video. "should i dance? did he have a knife? whats going on? is bassnectar coming on soon? did he have a knife? I need a cigerette. Is he ok? Did you see that? The music is still going?"

I'm sure they'll announce some other exciting artists to keep people tuned in and whatnot... that's only the *initial* lineup and more to come.
I don't think I'll go if Roo is worthwhile (which I assume it will be), but still sorta makes me sad to see so many people all meh about it. Then again, it's not real popular on these boards, hence the hesitation to start the 2013 thread for it.

Digital Tape Machine has Joel Cummins and Kris Myers from Umphrey's Pigs on the Wing has David Murphy from STS9 If those dudes are going to be there...why wouldn't Umphrey's and STS9 play?

I just can't get over passion pit, eots, and dispatch. Couldn't have picked worse acts for my tastes. Knife party at least makes sense but I really don't care for them.
Last year's lineup killed this one. Everyone in my group of 20+ that went last year are scratching their heads at this one. Most of us already have tickets so it's an extra kick in the balls.
The additions have never been very big so I'm not counting on much. Beats antique was our biggest add last year if I remember right and kdtu in 2011. Maybe umphreys will be there but joel sent a tweet that made it seem unlikey. Probably see something like sam bush and keller in the adds. Don't expect much more.

Joel said no EFF on twitter. Something with Summercamp and an outdoor Chicago show. The lineup definitely isn't the best, but I'll probably head up for 3 nights of cheese.
Chicago has a ton of EDM fests this year with EDC, spring awakening, Perry's at lolla and north coast. Add to that summer camp (which is the same weekend as EDC). I van see some artist fatigue affecting this lineup.

Trombone Shorty, Madeon, Tommy Trash, RL Grime, Grimes, and Baauer are pretty cool but that is about it. They seem to be popping up everywhere this summer so hopefully I'll get a chance to catch them.

I've done Roo for 8 years in a row! It's been a GOOD run and I don't regret it. However the last few have started to lose their magic for me no matter how great the lineup is year after year. Some of you get to do 3-4 sometimes 5 festivals a season. Usually I just get to do Bonnaroo, sometimes 1 other one. One of the reasons I want to do this fest is it's something different for me. You guys look at the lineup and say meh. but I'm still saying hell yeah! Because for most of you, you might've seen bands like String Cheese or EOTO 5-6 times. I've only walked by Cheese's set a few times, and I've never seen EOTO. Sure I've seen Pretty Lights 5 times, but I think the only other band on there I've seen more than once is Lotus, and they're great! I think it's a good initial lineup. I'm glad that motion potion is on there, I mentioned him in my last post. Lastly I'm surprised no one is really stoked for Pigs on the Wing with Murphy from sts9. I've seen STS9 enough times to where I'd be really happy just seeing that. Of course I'd like to see more bands like STS9 added. I'm really just set on this festival for a different setting this year, I've heard really great things, and I wanna see that Sherwood Forest in person!

Really wish I could check this out one year. I've heard nothin but good things about the location from friends who've made the trip. It's just too close to Roo for me to make it.

You know their his Pink Floyd cover band rite?
Yes! And I couldn't be more stoked for it. Pink Floyd is one of my favorite bands and STS9 is another one of my favorites. David Murphy is awesome and him and Up Until Now killed it at CounterPoint. When I went to CounterPoint I missed the David Murphy doing his Pigs on the Wing by 1 night! (It was in Atlanta the night before CounterPoint.) This should be one of my highlights.
They cant release the rest of the lineup until Summer Camp releases the rest of theirs do to proximity. Griz will be at the Forest.. The rest of the lineup is going to be freaking stacked.

Hey everyone I technically I have never been to the Electric Forrest Festival. I did however go to the first Rothbury Festival and I was just wondering if there have been any real big changes since Rothbury became Electric Forrest?

Other than the lineup, not much. The forest is much more amazing and has a stage. The odeum stage (main stage at roth) is gone and the ranch area is now the main stage.
