Swans is coming. There's some hope we'll see a couple more.
Right, but that's my point. U.S. festivals tend to get "a couple" of these kinds of groups, and those are always the acts that people are like "ZOMG" about - the rest of the spots are filled up with that year's festival whore acts, plus your standard big/radio/mainstream/headliner type names. Primavera has cultivated a lineup which is pretty much tailored for (sorry to say it like this) music snobs, and I think it's wonderful.

I understand now. I can see your point. Not to be nitpicky, but just to clarify, I guess I just think of the bands you listed more as "interesting" than necessarily "rare."
Also, I will say that while I agree this is a very stacked lineup (I was more impressed when I took a second look yesterday and examined the tiny-print bands more carefully), it is heavily weighted towards indie and electronic. Aside from Neurosis, I don't see very much at all in the way of metal, and aside from Wu-Tang, I don't see very much at all in the way of hip-hop (I guess also Killer Mike). But no lineup can have it all, obviously. Since I tend to like indie and electronic more than most other genres, this lineup definitely works for me; I just think it's worth noting.
5/17-19: HANGOUT
5/30- Andrew W.K
6/1- Big Boi w/ Killer Mike
6/13-16 BONNAROO!
6/29- Bob Dylan, Bob Weir, My Morning Jacket, Wilco
6/30- The Grandmothers of Invention
7/19-20 WSMFP
8/1- Mastodon w/ Machinehad
8/7- Melvins
9/5- Iron Maiden w/ Megadeth
9/26-29 Furthur Red Rocks (!)
10/2- The Legendary Pink Dots
11/1-3 Voodoodoo

Anyone seriously considering Primavera? I went two years a go and it was incredible. This year is a pretty sweet lineup, especially the first two days. Unless the Knife adds some US dates real soon, I could totally see myself in Barcelona in late May.

I hear ya man. I was thinking of making it into a European trip myself. Maybe hitting up berlin and london beforehand. Especially now that the Knife wont be at p4k and probably wont be stateswide until fall 2013 (at the very earliest), it makes me want to head overseas to check them out.

I'm hoping that a few of those Facebook teasers from Mt. Oasis come to fruition. The Knife being the main one.
