They're not metal, but do yall remember the Icarus Line?
They were like the Buddyhead house band. They were sorta like psych-punk. Aaron North was their guitar player and I think he was the other guy, besides Travis, who was heavily involved with the site. He played guitar with NIN for a few years around the With Teeth tour.
They opened for APC at my first rock show and it went very poorly. North was spitting in the crowd because they were throwing bottles at him. Or something.
"Turn the fucking house lights on so I can see the rednecks throwing bottles at me," I remember him saying like it was yesterday. It was like 17 years ago.
Anyway, their album Penance Soiree was actually pretty badass.
Something about Buddyhead that was funny is their reviews were on a scale of how happy the album made Axl Rose. They had a 1-5 scale of Axl being raging pissed to pleased with whatever album was being reviewed, with pictures to match.

Very much so. I used to live in a house that doubled as a venue in PDX. We booked touring 'emo' and post-punk bands a lot there. Most of those guys used to be in a band called Kanker Sores. After they broke up and regrouped, they got serious.
You're absolutely right about Aaron. That's the dude, for sure.
I remember it being a thing last year, but it's crazy expensive for what it is...
Is it similar to Levitation where there are multiple shows going on at the same time?
no I think it's just two days one venue, so it's really just a $100 swans with multiple openers and $100 converge with multiple openers. I'm sure there will be adds though.

Are we sure Mayhem is a headliner at Pscyho after this, garageland ?
i was pretty sure they werent when Ty was ahead of them on the first wave, but that's also probably a good thing in general if a name like that isn't in your top 3-6.
Do yourself a favor tonight and dig into Night Demon. Satan and Gate Creeper are two of the others I'd check out too.
Big ups to a festival for not booking Nazi's.
E: Holy fucking shit. SCRATCH THAT.
Dig into Haunt and Night Demon first.
E2: I'll help.
That Gatekeeper not Gate Creeper. Get your prescription checked, old man.
Lol I'm over here armchair fighting Nazi's. Ain't got time for that.
Also Magic Circle is one of the better records I heard this year. Imagine a bunch of Boston punks covering unreleased Sabbath songs and that's a good start.
