Adds dropped while I was driving to Big Ears. Yes, I freaked the fuck out at Earth. Picked up a ticket shortly after.

There will be one more follow-up post in a week or so with a handful of additional confirmed bands to complete the billing.
Too late. I’ve shit and died, folks. Third Bell Witch show this year. <3
Damn. I would go to that if I lived in East Coast.
I just talked Mrs. GL into coming with for our anniversary trip. She knows nothing and I’m probably gonna die after it’s over but it’ll totally be worth it.
It’s been an insane few days. I decided to break a list up by genre to make it more palatable. Tonight is brought to you by Doom.
Bell Witch - Mirror/Reaper Warning - Watching From A Distance Candlemass - Epicus Doomicus Metallicus Pallbearer – Sorrow & Extinction Electric Wizard - Dopethrone Yob - Clearing A Path To Ascend Saint Vitus – Born Too Late Sleep - Dopesmoker Sleep - Holy Mountain Black Sabbath- Sabotage
You’ll know what to do as soon as you hear Bell Witch.
I’ll try to do one a week so you can take some time to listen.

Horns Up, my man. Hope you enjoy.
Just out of curiosity, what are the other subgenres that you have in mind for future lists?

Dude, you’re the best. I’ve been going through some shit lately and this means a lot to me, being totally honest.

I’m really digging Bell Witch
No worries. Metal is one of those things that’s kinda daunting. I had some great people point me in the right direction and try to do the same when I can.
Making that list caused me to drive around with toddlers listening to Candlemass for the past few days. I should have put Nightfall on there.

Richmond is going to kick you the fuck out for skipping Windhand.
Also,
Get hype for that new albums.
Edit: Neither of those are related to the original list. Just wanted to mention them for upcoming releases.
I feel like nothing may ever top that show for me, metal-wise. That was balls. So much pyro. So many pentagrams. Hope I can catch them at a fest before they finally go out, but that's probably it. So long to the greatest metal band of all-time.
The Slayer lead guitar style is one of the greatest contributions ever made to rock music. That shit is just astonishing to see live.
garageland , I am confused. I thought The Quietus hated everything not super obscure.
They’v always been big proponents of all things polarizing and Deafheaven definitely fits that. Too “metal” for the masses and not “metal” enough for purists.
They are spot on with this though. It’s a challenging listen but really rewarding after the fact. It’s my favorite by them thus far.
