Huge game tonight. Despite my first love as well as my fantasy team:
Side note - Mrs. G and I had burgers with him and William Fichtner at a Taylor's Refresher when they were on a Prison Break break - neither are as scary in real life.
Talk about a win win scenario. Bruins beat the sens, Habs play the leafs in what may be the most entertaining series in recent years. Sens beat the Bruins, Habs win the division and play the Sens, a weaker team than Toronto IMO. Tho, having Karlsson back makes them much more dangerous than they have been. Just really glad we don't line up against the Rangers in the first round.

I predict the Bruins winning in shootout and getting the Islanders. I've never been a fan of playing a team the last game of the season before going into a playoff series against them, more of a superstition than anything.
I agree with you there. I kinda wish the Habs lost tonight. The leafs would be way overconfident and I'm a firm believer that regular season doesn't mean shit once the playoffs begin. This is gonna be Carry Price's coming out party that locks him as the starter for team Canada in the Olympics, or the first in many painful realizations that he'll never live up to his overblown expectations. I Personaly need to believe the former, as he's been great all season, and looked like he got over his slump the other night.
Inforoo Stanley Cup Playoff pool anyone? Or perhaps some beer bets on series predictions?
Rangers vs. Caps...again. Probably the best 1st round matchup they could possibly hope for, though.
I know right - what's this 5 years in a row or something? Caps actually played better against Boston, Montreal and Toronto this year, but I'm okay with the Rangers in the first round too.
It's so bad being a Bruins fan right now. There's so much potential, and it's being squandered and lost. If they manage to get past Toronto, they are going to get demolished by Pittsburgh. Hell, I think the Leafs might take this in 5 or 6 - and this sucks. No consistency, through a whole game and through a whole season.
It's not the B's year. I call it karma, the culture and attitude around that team is just awful. it sinks into the players. But Seguin will be a true force in the coming years, youre still in good shape. that said, They're not about to catch fire, tho I do like them to beat the leafs, and rangers to beat the Caps. Habs beat the bruins, then the pens, then the Hawks, then Superman, then Jesus.
I know everyone says soccer seems to be the one sport where people enjoy the video games more than the actual sport itself, but that's how I've always felt about hockey.
Shitty way to go out, and I could make all the excuses about injuries and Anderson stealing the series and blah blah blah, but bottom line is we just lost our footing at the end of the season, and it carried over. Sens played great and I'll have no problem cheering for them next round. All in all, I'm still proud of this team. It was our young guys who got us from 3rd worst to wining the division. We're only gonna get better.
What's this like the 5th or 6th game 7 Bruins have choked away is as many years (minus the cup year)? They plain and simple didn't deserve to win this series so I'm actually a lot less upset than I have been at comparable losses. I've seen the stat but not sure the exact numbers but I think with Julien as coach the B's are something like 5-17 in series clinching games. I wouldn't be surprised if he is sitting in a hot seat.
That said this looks like it will be my first roo with out the Bruins or Celtics still playing, and I'm undercoverly a little bit excited abut not having to worry about catching scorescor watching a game in the on tap lounge or what ever they call it this year.
