It's usually the promoters of the club. Not sure about The Sinclair but Track 29 is all ACE, if I'm not mistaken.
Yeah, AC is the "talent buyer" for Track 29. It just seems like there are less shows in Knoxville to an extent because they are in Chattanooga instead.
Skrillex and Boys Noize bring you The Bang at The Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit on New Year's Eve. The headliners are bringing friends from OWSLA and Boys Noize Records to Detroit, the birthplace of techno, for what is sure to be an unforgettable night. A dynamic lineup also features Flosstradamus, Alvin Risk, D.I.M., and Destructo will be taking over the Palace on December 31st.

More for the San Francisco Bay Area:
Erykah Badu - Fox Theater - Oakland Gogol Bordello, Shpongle, etc. - Concourse Exhibition Center - SF Joan Osborne - Terrapin Crossroads - San Rafael Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue - The Fillmore - SF Maceo Parker - Yoshi's SF
I'm planning on Furthur on 12/29 and Joan Osborne on 12/31.
From what I've heard Chris and Gweneth are really close to Jay and Beyonce, and they spend a lot of time together. It totally makes sense to me now, but I didn't expect it at all. I'm torn on if I want to go, though.
I like the idea and if I lived nearby, I'd probably go. My main issue with Coldplay is not really the music. It's the fact that Martin flat out cannot sing live. It's been distractingly bad.
BUT - I'd give him another shot for Lost and some more of the Run This Town and Paradise they did at the Paralympics.
Big Freedia - Dada Hayes Carll - House Of Blues Jonathan Tyler & The Northern Lights - Granada Theater "Lights All Night" Music Festival (30,31) - Fair Park

If you're into Trance, House, Techno, etc Miami is the place to be on NYE. In addition to Carl Cox, there's now shows for Kaskade @ Story Nightclub and Claude Constroke @ Grand Central.
I have zero interest in any of these shows. I wish Miami got good NYE shows.
