Texas has had a down year. Lots of identity questions and of course the issue of still having Mac Brown as HC. I think Oregon State has a really good chance. Texas has a freshman rb that is phenomenal but haven't really gotten the most out of him yet. We played against him last year in the state semifinals and he made our defense (which was actually a good one) look like slow children. He's the real deal. They need to get him more integrated into their running game and I think they'd have a much better chance. Still basically a home game considering San Antonio is only 2 hours from Austin and that entire region of the state is Longhorn crazy.
Keep an eye out for that rb, Jonathan Gray. He was the #1 recruit in the country last year. I expect big things from him (and I don't like that one bit considering I'm a Baylor guy).
Given Clemson's success on his side of the ball recently, it's only a matter of time until someone lures him away. A guy that young is not going to stay a coordinator forever.
Clemson fan site said he told them he's not interested in the auburn job. that's hard to believe.
^glad we have nothing to do with Mac Brown still being Longhorns HC. I <3 coach boom! And looks like he read my post on "balance" we just got that Joker from UK. Which = SCORE!
Advertise it outside this thread and you could probably get enough people to get the cost down to $15 or $10 and still afford a ticket
Will do this, but I think we should set the price at $20(or is this too much?) and the left over goes to another ticket or to the runner up or toward beers for the rest of us on Thursday st the Brewers tent. If someone wants to run this, feel free to step up, if not I will get on it on Wednesday. Work has me busy until then.
Oh, the biggest loser in this bowl game fiasco, LA Tech. How do you go 9-3 and not play in a bowl game? That is WAC! quacking georgia tech has a losing record and they are going to a bowl and there are multiple teams at .500 going to a bowl. I feel for those Bulldog players, looks like their school may have screwed them out a chance to play post season.

I think the bowl selection process screwed them out of a bowl. The Independence Bowl invited them before the regular season was over and demanded an immediate decision, thereby preventing the team from examining all available postseason opportunities.

It seems to hit a nerve with Wisconsin fans, since they're making their 3rd straight Rose Bowl. I guess either the pay is better or he saw the opportunity for better exposure or making it to a national champ. From Arkansas's perspective, it's kind of random. I wasn't aware he was in the running at all for switching jobs.

I had heard Bielema's name once or twice when reading about coaching searches, but I had written it off due since there was no real reason behind hearing his name other than he coaches college football.
I just don't really get it from his perspective. Wisconsin's far from an elite program, but it's been top 20 going back to the late 90's. What's his ceiling going to be in the SEC, third in their division every year? He played at Iowa so it's not like he's an SEC guy. Just bizzare. Totally not surprised at the way he's leaving, either.

First of all, Bielema made $2.5 million this year according to ESPN. The only coaches that got paid less than that in the SEC this year were Phillips and Dooley, who both got fired, so at the very least, he is probably looking at a pretty nice raise as the rumors have said Arkansas has been throwing cash around in their coaching search.
A source said Bielema knew he'd be leaving a couple weeks ago and that he was weighing a couple different SEC options. Maybe Tennessee did talk to him?

Possibly. The consensus is that Hart talked to Strong last week, Gunday on Sunday and Fedora today. That's all based off rumors and speculation and insider tweets, so they could have easily missed someone.

We're not quite making a full financial analysis if we only look at how much Arkansas will pay him. We also have to take into account that the cost of living will be about 20% lower and state/local taxes will be about 1 percentage point lower or 9% less. Regardless of what they pay him, it is a fairly nice pay bump.
