I try to watch this every October. It really should be required watching for any Halloween marathon. Still my favorite ghost story. Well, if it is a ghost story.
Another very popular "but everyone has seen it!" movie that I've never seen.
This is one of those examples of movies that peak way too early... I'm a big fan of the movie overall and would unquestionably have it in my top 10 war-related films I've seen, but the first half is just so fucking good that the rest of the film pales in comparison.
Picked up the complete Exorcist anthology the other night. Going to try to watch them all within the coming couple of weeks... it has been about 4 years since I've seen the original (always thought it was great but overrated), over a decade since I've seen the second one (fucking godawful movie), and never seen the other ones. The 3rd one seems to have a strong cult following with some preferring it to the original, and the two more recent prequels are almost unanimously panned (the story behind these two movies is quite intriguing, and I'm actually quite excited to watch these two supposed pieces of shit because of that). The original never really cracked my "horror favorites" but I'm hoping some time and a supposedly great HD transfer sways my opinion. Also, quite looking forward to picking part 2 to pieces .

I'm burnt out on all these newer Horror flicks I've been catching up on. So I'm in the middle of a Neil Marshall double feature. Still bummed to see he isn't going to be back to direct another GoT episode next season. Anyway, I lurve both of these.

I liked Dog Soldiers alright, but The Descent is the jam. I've been caving several times before, and I don't know why movies hadn't taken advantage of that setting before because it is such an easy place to get creeped out.

Dog Solders is just campy fun. The Decent is pretty damn freaky. And it's a damn same to see such cool chicks go to waste.
You forgot one classic movie that took advantage of caving. The Italian "sequel" to Alien. The one with the flying hell hamster thingy. bishop needs this in his cheese movie pile.
I think I'll just watch the new Homeland tonight. Not so sure if they are going to pull of something worthwhile this season.
Oh yes, I've seen Alien 2... it has been quite a few years, but I definitely have seen it. Don't remember much of it, but it was during a period in my life where I was watching lots of Italian and Turkish knock-offs from the 80s, so they all kind of blend in.
First time seeing this in probably 8 years or so... holy god this is way better than I remembered. One of the most ridiculous horror sequels I've seen while still being good and not completely separating itself from the masterful original. Fucking hilarious... from the opening sequence on the longest bridge in Texas, right down to the climax of Leatherface vs. Dennis Hopper in a chainsaw duel, this movie had me crying with laughter. Favorite scene in the movie: Stretch is sitting on the ice bucket in the locker at the radio station, Leather face is furiously chainsawing (in a suggestive manner, of course) the contents of the ice bucket, spraying soda/beer/whatever all over the place, until he suddenly stops... Stretch says "you aren't mad at me, are you?" I fucking lost it.
