Change that to under-rated, and then it's correct. Especially the Tango in the Night album and Christine McVie vocals. quack I love Fleetwood Mac so much.
Yacht Rock.

Looks like I'm a little late to this thread, but here we go:
I have discussed this in Now Playing, but I can't stand the album Spiderland by Slint.
I have never listened to Brothers by the Black Keys because I dislike the cover art so much.
Like, glennron, I have never listened to anything except Song #2 by Blur. I actually do have listening to them on my To Do List on my desk.
I don't get the Afghan Whigs.
I sold my Pavement reunion tour tickets to buy have enough money for Widespread Panic tickets that same weekend. It was because of my wife's insistance. She still apologizes to me for it, but that doesn't make it any better.
I plan on revisiting it numerous times, so I'll keep you posted. There is a lot of stuff that I absolutely love that I just didn't get at first, so who knows what will happen. And it's not that I didn't like it, it just...wasn't what I expected. Thought it would be louder, more aggressive. It's kind of poppy, and the female vocals threw me off.
And oh yeah...I don't like seeing shows at the Tabernacle in Atlanta.
Contrary to my earlier post regarding not berating people in this thread... This ^^^ deserves berating.
WHHHHAAAAAT?!?!?!? DUUUUUDE. it's the TAB. it's like saying you don't enjoy a show at the Ryman in Nashvegas. Or CBGB's (God rest her soul) in NYC. Or fucking Red Rocks! Its classic! Its iconic!!! WTF?!??? IT'S THE TAB!!!! Shit. I'm so saddened by this statement.

Everybody treats the Tabernacle likes its some magical, unfuckwithable venue, so I'm not surprised my post ruffled some feathers. Here's my explanation: The place is expensive, from the Livenation tickets to the $10 beers. It costs way too damn much. Parking sucks around it where you have to pay to park and fight traffic and downtown streets. Or you can take a taxi, which is a long expensive ride because nobody actually lives near the Tabernacle. Forget about walking home or to a friends. Food options and drink options are a hike from the venue and always crowded. Once inside, you can't smoke unless you go all the down to the basement and outside. The huge stage space makes smaller and opener bands sound like crap. The seem to refuse to give them anymore volume to fill the space. The floor is always packed like sardines, which just makes it way uncomfortable and near impossible to grab an overpriced drink and get back. I don't like watching shows from balconies, so those don't do me any good. True its an old iconic building, but the place is overrated clusterf*ck.
I've only ever really listened to one grateful dead song which is touch of grey. I have wanted to fix this for awhile but never really knew where to start. Suggestions?

I'm sure some may disagree, and while not my personal favorite, I think American Beauty is the best place to start. It has the most "radio friendly" Grateful Dead songs on it of all their albums. I'll guess you've heard at least some of them somewhere. From there, go to Terrapin Station or my favorite, Shakedown Street.

Yep I agree on all these to broaden your variety of Dead Although there will never be anything like going to a Dead show......

American Beauty Europe '72
I'm also partial to Workingman's Dead. I like that album.

I saw a few shows at the Tabernacle, and it wasn't my favorite place, but I disagree that your only option is driving or taking a cab. We walked there from our apartment several times, and even if we couldn't have walked, it's not that far at all from a MARTA station.
The thing I didn't like was when we saw Les there, and the show started at like 6:00 or something ridiculous, so it was still daylight out for a lot of the show. They put curtains or plywood (I don't remember what it was exactly, if I even knew at the time) over the windows, but the light still came through the cracks so it was weirdly bright inside for a long time.

I've been meaning to add that part to my post. The shows start way too early there.
I won't go to shows in the middle of the week in Boston, it's just too late for me. I wouldn't get home until after Midnight, at least, and get to wake up at 5 for work. I did it once for Rush, but that's about it. Friday or Saturday for me.
I hate having to worry about falling asleep driving home, or if I'm gonna miss the last trains back to where my car is.
