Due to unforseen and or forseen circumstances however you call it I have in my possesion a free ticket for a lucky Inforooer for Nashville this Tuesday. We will keep this simple as time is VERY SHORT! Basically last year I got a block of 5 tickets to see it. It was me and some friends of mine that several Inforooers met got tickets to go. Well things change. My friend David and his girlfriend Lindy got pregnant with twins. Lindy is doing fine but is 7 months in and cannot make it and my friend David bailed because of it. My friend Jeff who also got a ticket bailed because he got put in a wedding. Me and my friend Jason are still going as planned. Two of the three tickets have been reallocated to Jason's wife and the other one to my friend Michelle who I have been seeing after I originally got the tickets. Basically we are "stuck" with an odd ticket now. ANYONE who lives in the Nashville or can hop a fast boat from China area is welcome to try for this ticket there are very simple rules. Just apply for the ticket I want this to be as random as possible. I want everyone to post up why they want to see "the wall" and their name. I will then do it tomorrow night and a winner will be randomly selected one of the contestants and they will be the winner. I plan on being in Nashville early on Tuesday of this week around 2PMish. Me and my friends agenda will be simple check into our hotel probably just go by Third Man for shits and giggles as last time I went was due to the Jack White show and their was a big line. Then we will go downtown and 'hang out" maybe Jacks BBQ as I suggested in another thread. They have a nice patio we can hang out on and have nommage or something liquid to refresh us. The doors from what I understand will open at 6:30pm and the show as with all Roger Waters shows I have ever been to (this being my fifth one and second WALL show) will start promptly at 8pm. I have had bad luck with my ticket giveaways in the past so I am hoping to make this one upscale boss mode. Last year I tried giving away a Beats Antique ticket at the last minute no takers. And then there was a spoken word session with Common that I gave away and it was failure due to him cancelling the speaking engagement. Hopefully this third time will not be cursed and I can make someone happy! This is about as good of a concert as can be dreamed up for someone to go to. And it is a real spectacle! Once a winner is drawn I will give them my phone number and see about arraigning a meet to get them their ticket. I think this covers all of the bases for this. I am going to do the drawing tomorrow night around 9pm before I head to work. Anyway let us see who is interested in atttending the greatest psychedellic spectacle since Radiohead last week lol. There will be a light show and flying pigs and many other suprises all of the classic Pink Floyd paraphenalia and of course Roger Waters who wrote and sung most of the album almost all of the musicians playing were either session musicians who worked on the studio album or have toured with a Rogerless Pink Floyd in the late 80's early 90's or with Roger since he started doing solo shows again since 99. You will get a spot on sound. And who knows maybe get deeply drawn into the Roger Waters vs. David Gilmour debate. The show is fixed so you will get such gems as "Another Brick In The Wall Pt.2" "Hey You" and "Comfortably Numb" as a bonus you will also get to hear a song that unless you are super familiar with Pink Floyd you will have never have heard before called "The Last Few Bricks" a kinda of improvish bit the band does before it linerally switched to side two on the old school LP and "Hey You" basically this is to give the roadies time to slap in and test the wall when it is complete for the second half of the show. And of course at the end you will get to see the worlds largest IMAX screen for lack of a better term "blown up" it is roughly 300 ft. long by 40 ft. tall
(A standard IMAX screen is 22 × 16.1 m (72 × 52.8 ft), but can be larger. The world's largest cinema screen (a 15/70 mm IMAX) is the LG IMAX Theatre in Sydney, Australia. It is approximately eight stories high, with dimensions of 35.73 × 29.42 m (117.2 × 96.5 ft) and covers an area of more than 1,015 m2 (10,930 sq ft).[13])
Anyway in case I needed to sell this or hype it anymore for those who are oblivious to what is being done here I guess I have done my job. Good luck I will just put all of the names in hat and do a drawing. This is as Obama says "teachable moment" and a once in a lifetime opportunity. And seriously if you can go see this show it is well worth it do not be concerned about those pricey floor seats etc. The band plays behind a wall the wall is all about the separation and disconnect between and artist and the fans. My seats are not grand floor seats but "nosebleeds" and seriously I thank the people who had the money to get those seats this show is not cheap I guarantee that. These people have subsidized average people of meager means who still want to see one of the greatest albums ever performed in it's entirety.
This is the entire show for those who cannot make it to this but trust me you will want to go see this live if at all possible.

I have seen the 1982 film countless times and got incredibly excited when this tour was announced. I have, on several occasions, watched the film on repeat all night. I also have most of the Pink Floyd albums on CD. I signed up for the presale information and spread the word about it to many of of friends, both on anf off inforoo. When the day of the presale came I was devastated by the price of tickets. Funds have been tight for quite a while and I know that with the concerts and festivals I had already committed to that this show would have to wait until the next tour, it there ever is one.
If I am chosen, here is what I can offer in return and thanks:
If by the grace of Corncat you can literally make this dream a reality of mine, I can guarantee first and foremost that the ticket will both go to someone who will truly enjoy and appreciate the show and be thankful and mindful of the people and situation which made it possible.
I will show up wherever there happens to be a pre-show meetup to help show my gratitude for those who made it possible.
I will hand write a thank you letter to Lindy, David, and Jeff for the opportunity.
Since my funds are in short supply and this is a once in a lifetime opportunity, I know that I will not be heavily indulging in anything that can/will impair my judgement or memory of the show. I will offer to be the designated driver to anyone who needs/wants one in the Nashville area up to 5 passengers.
I will ensure that Dave (from Dave Maynar) will be as far from pissed as humanly possible.
I will make a donation to QSARS in the name of whoever originally purchased the ticket.
I will have a box of Zebra Cakes waiting for you at my pool party.
I will consider entering a 12 step program for my Republicanism.
I will not ask you if you are into fitness.
I will do whatever you ask to spread the love of this community and help pay it forward.
As much as I hope I am the lucky winner, I would also like to say thank you to Lono and his friends for making this possible for someone and wish all those who enter good luck.

I don't know if this process requires formal nominations, but if so, I would like to formally nominate Mike D.
And also, we definitely need to have a pre show meet up. I am leaving work at 1pm and driving to nashville directly after. I plan to be in Nashville approx 4pm. Personally, I am thinking of something walking distance from the bridgestone. I know there are alot of options down broadway. Someplace would decently priced good food would be prefered.
The man does set a hell of a bar for entries, doesn't he?
I am the one who taught Wu-Tang Clan how not to be fucked with, I don't play games
And Mikey, Even though Mike D is above you on the alphabetical list, it doesn't mean I already have won. If you want a shot at going to this show, plead your case man, you will never know if you don't try.
Dude, that seriously isn't an excuse. I have to be at work at 8am Wednesday, and I live over 3 hours away.
He may have to work that evening. Phil's work has odd hours.
Correct. I will be working till 10pm that evening. Normally its no big deal to leave early, but I cant with such short notice and we have a big case going on.

Thats the situation I was in a couple weeks ago. Scrog offered me a free ticket Monday night before Roo, and I had already promised to be available that Friday and Monday to setup a VPN and file sharing for a Dr that was suppose to start doing Telepsych the week following bonnaroo. So, I turn down the free ticket and that dirty wanch decided to put it off a week. It really was quite amish.

I was going to come here and plead my case, but there is no way I can beat Mike D. Besides, he lives in Nashville and there is no way I could make it down there until around 6pm-ish at the earliest. I nominate Mike D as well, he deserves that ticket!
So it looks like no one else is entering for this ticket. Can't let Mike D just walk away with it.
Consider me entered!

I will send a cool gift to Mike D for his birthday pool party. Do you know he was so gracious to let us hang at his place on 3 hours notice just before Roo? AND let this water baby swim in his pool a few times. (While the southerns were bundled in clothes. What's up with that?)
I will not ask you your weight, religion, political views, sexual preference(s), or anything about jelly vs. fluff, how many forks in the kitchen drawer, or your favorite tasting crayola crayon.
I'm not above bribing. This fall we can shop together for that Hennessy Hammock you would like.
Mike D will do whatever you ask to spread the love of this community and help pay it forward.
I will send Mike D as my proxy to the show in the event I can not personally suddenly show up in nashville overnight.
