What's the lowest they could be on the poster? 5 or 6 maybe? They can't possibly be in the Beach Boys spot or higher, right?
I honestly wouldn't see them lower than #4, but they would fit right in as a Saturday night headliner along the lines of Eminem or RHCP.
Also, it's not even debatable that current Guns and Roses is a mere shell of classic Guns and Roses, but when I saw them they put on a way better show than whatevertheQuack RHCP was doing up there last year.
Yeah I don't think we're getting GnR. That's a phenomenal guess for that clue JJ and makes sense, but I just don't see Bonnaroo booking GnR unless it's the original lineup (in which case they would definitely be a headliner).

Id rather see Slash and Myles Kennedy go through the GnR stuff personally then have the sideshow take a main stage for 2 hours(on paper) and axl be gassed halfway through a shizzy Mr. Brownstone rendition.

Guns and Roses plays arenas and stadiums. They are a headliner, at WORST LN Which but I really doubt it. What they lack in talent they make up for in the fact that they don't play shows that often. There are LOTS of people who live in the TN area who would get a ticket for Roo to see this cause they know damn well they will likely never play the area again.
I saw GNR do an arena show in Toronto about a year and a half ago. The arena was probably 85-90% full. The show was a HUGEEEE spectacle but ran wayyyy too long. They played for a little over 3 hours, the material from Chinese Democracy was received lukewarm at best.
However, when they did go back to the old stuff, the band Axl has killed it. They played a lot off of Appetite and did Estranged/November Rain/You Could Be Mine/Double Talkin Jive and a couple others from Use Your Illusion.
It was pretty cool to see Tommy Stinson playing bass with the band, I loved him in The Replacements. Having seen both lineups I will say the energy level from the early 90s is still there, however the music is presented much better live now, albeit more polished.
