Left over salmon would be great. Affordable and already stated would be a nice afternoon beach party. Those guys almost broke the floor at the orange peel this past fall. Knee slappin and foot stompin for hours!

As for RHCP, Iv loved them since 6th grade so they will always have a special place in my heart...although their Hangout set was kinda bland. I saw them at home (Little Rock) this fall and they seemed to be much more into it...maybe it was just our seats.
As for Hangout 2013 wishlist....
Sir Paul - I said before, had the pleasure to see him in 09. Tulsa of all places. Incredible.
or
Springsteen - would be cool. I know he has his share of haters, I was one once... But iv gone with my pops to 6 of his shows since '05. Dude lives up to his reputation live.
or
Prince- Yes. Yes. and Yes. Agree with the rest of you. Always hoped he'd make a Bonnaroo stop. Nobody doesnt like Prince.
MMJ - Guess Jim James solo will have to do. Phoenix Zac Brown Band Dave & Tim Reynolds (just them two)
Big Boi A$AP Kid Cudi
Big G Pretty Lights GRiZ
Not big on the jam stuff anymore really. Seen WSP too many times, Phish doesnt do it for me. SCI and Umph's Ill never understand. I guess Further would be cool. I am an unashamed DMB fan though... im 27 and have been since my first time to see him in 9th grade.
No offense to anyone, but I just dont care to see Bob Dylan. Same reason I didnt care to see the Beach Boys last year at 'Roo.
I don't think Tool is that far out of the realm of possibility. An announcement today, I believe, sets up for further announcements of a new record and a North American tour. They're not going to Australia and Japan and play new material and then not tour the states. But that's just my augmented reality and fascination with Tool. And to everyone who says they don't fit "the mold", well they were "good enough" to play the Roo in '07 and HMF is Roo's newborn baby brother.

Undercard rumors:
- Avett Brothers. Alpharetta on 5/17, Nashville on 5/18, then a gap until 5/24. They will almost certainly be the Sunday pre-headliner. Hangout alums.
- Delta Rae. Leaked via Pollstar.
- Moon Taxi. Self-confirmed.
- Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers. Seemed likely due to a Tyron, NC, date on 5/17, but now they're playing a festival in Pennsylvania on 5/18. They still have a gap until 6/1 in Virginia.
- Steve Aoki. Announced tour dates that included Hangout, then quickly removed the date from his website.
- Gov't Mule. They will be at Beale St in early May, but not at Jazz Fest that same weekend as expected. Could be because of a radius clause with Hangout? Also playing Mountain Jam. Hangout vets.
- fun. Mostly speculative, but they have a gap in May, and seem like the kind of band that would book festivals like Hangout this summer.
- Lucero. Tour dates end in either Atlanta or Memphis the weekend of 5/4 (playing festivals in both cities, daily lineups unavailable at this point). Exactly the kind of undercard band Hangout tends to book.
- The Breeders. Tour dates end in Atlanta on 5/15. I remain skeptical that Hangout would book them.
- Built to Spill. Tour dates end in Utah on 5/12, but they will be back West by 5/24 for Sasquatch.
- Bassnectar. Dates end in Chattanooga on 5/12.
- Shovels & Rope. Rumor originated by everydayperson, who got it from a source that apparently knows things.
- They Might Be Giants. Australian tour ends 5/11, US tour picks up in Indianapolis on 5/30. Hangout likes artists who can pull double duty on the kids' stage.
- Old Crow Medicine Show. Opening for Avett Brothers on 5/17, no date scheduled after. Hangout vets.
- James Blake. Tour dates end in Atlanta on 5/14, but probably not someone Hangout would book.
- Fall Out Boy. They are in Ohio on 5/17, with a gap until a 5/21 date in Pittsburgh. That's the longest gap in their US tour. Doesn't seem like a good fit, though. Paramore has a similar gap, so it's more likely both will end up at a Bamboozle kind of fest.
- Crosby, Stills & Nash. Florida on 5/17, and Charlotte on 5/19. Tons of regional dates in May, though.
- Band of Horses. US tour ends 5/11 in Charlotte, then a gap until Primavera in Spain on 5/24.

I tried to mention everyone who has been seriously discussed in this thread, as long as there was at least some evidence to back it up. I'm sure I missed some, so let me know what I left out.

Its kind of amusing to see people complain this band or that doesn't fit the HOF "mold". This festival is only 3 years old. That isn't much of a history to base assumptions off of.

The last two years have been consistent enough that it's not unreasonable to talk about a Hangout "mold." Bonnaroo's lineups were eclectic enough by 2007 that nobody was really outside the realm of possibility. Hangout has been much narrower.
Mule is at wanee and Beale street- I say that rules them out
Why? There's no radius issue there. Gov't Mule played both Wanee and Hangout in 2010, and Widespread Panic headlined both in 2011. Beale St is way outside of any radius clause, and there have been crossovers every year.

True, but I think they could easily change it up and get someone that doesn't fit that mold.
And I haven't seen anyone mention any reggae type bands. I imagine there will probably be a couple there this year. Slightly Stoopid, Matisyahu, The Dirty Heads, Ballyhoo, Expendables, and a lot of other similar bands are all playing the Roots festival in California the week after and most have open dates the week before. californiarootsfestival.com/category/lineup/
ProblemDog - nice undercard round up I still think we should keep They Might Be Giants in there too. Mainly because of this gap in their tour: May 11: Bunbury, WA Australia - Groovin’ The Moo Festival Bunbury May 30: Indianpolis, IN - Vogue Theatre

My guess for newer reggae types would be The Green and Anuhea. But also because I want them there. Maybe a repeat of Tribal Seeds.

Updated, definitely meant to include them. Thanks.
Idk how legit this is but on twitter a guy posted "If anyone wants to go to a festival this summer Hangout is going to be by far the best one, my dad is friends with the owner (Shaul) and said the lineup is incredible"
