I don't see the point in not releasing a time if you're gonna release the date. I would think they would want as many people to see it as possible. I feel like I have posted this in the past

I guess the plan of action is to follow this user and wait for them to create a new playlist or start starring tracks?
This could be how it works, but also this link (http://www.spotify.com/us/blog/archives/2012/02/13/spmarket-13get-the-low-down-on-the-bonnarroo-2012-line-up-with-spotifyspmarket/) says to specifically "watch this space" for the line-up.

think about it from spotify's standpoint: do they want a ton of people checking at one specific time or a load of people checking all day in addition to a ton of people checking once it drops

I'd say once, honestly. A lot of people are going to be turned off by having to check constantly, and will just wait to read it on one of hundreds of blogs and other websites. If you say, "Check this link at noon for a Spotify exclusive announcement/playlist", then you have people excited for it.

spotify will be happy to have people checking often enough to get tired of it

True, but you also have people who won't check spotify at all, because of it. If they said what was going on, or when, I probably would. Now, I'll just wait to see a list somewhere else.
dammit. if this thing is dropping at noon - im gonna get to work.... after strategic bathroom break - after chat with coworker - after refresh Spotify page (just in case) - after re-check of Inforoo...
