I'm pretty excited for Matthew Dear this weekend, I really enjoyed his DJ Kicks album.
How was the show?
If you're a big fan you're going to have a blast. Unfortunately I had to leave pretty early in the night to take care of an intoxicated friend, but I really enjoyed it while I was there.
I know I've been posting it in Now Playing, but I'm really digging Clap! Clap! - A Thousand Skies. It's nothing ground breaking, but it's a damn good time.
"In a time when music and activism are more linked than ever, smartbar is excited to welcome back DAPHNE: A WOMEN’S MOVEMENT IN DANCE MUSIC for the third year, this March.
In one sense, Daphne is no different than any other night in smartbar. We work hard to place woman-identified and non-binary artists in positions of leadership in our club on a consistent and ever-increasing basis. Women have been central part of the architecture smartbar's residents program for almost 20 years—long before equality in dance music was a hot button topic. With the Daphne series, we hope to disprove the oft-cited “roadblocks” used to scapegoat gender disparities in dance lineups by showing that gender parity is not only possible, but it also requires no compromise in the quality or success of the club."
I think it's great that this club is doing this. I was wondering if there were any names I should particularly check out? I've heard of Nina Kraviz, and based on Spotify "Related Artists" I think I'd like her, I'll check her out. This will also be the third time I've seen The Black Madonna this year, I don't think I'll ever get enough of her. I've seen DJ Heather before and enjoyed her, I'm seeing her open for Detroit Swindle this weekend actually. I also enjoyed Eris Drew opening up for The Black Madonna recently. I'm in the dark on everyone else though.
Of course The Black Madonna, which you have already seen and I'm super jealous of that fact. Nina Kraviz, Heidi, Jarvi, Blacktronika, Lux, and T Mixwell. My friends just bought T Mixwell to an Art of House event they host, and from what I heard, she was great. I was working cross town at another venue but everyone loved it. This looks like a super cool event! Let us know how it is!
Not to diminish the sanctity of the Bleep-Bloop Sanctum, but this is when I take your time and spam one of my own tracks. It's probably not good. This is more just a sad attempt at generating listeners outside of my significant other. I would really appreciate it.

So I'm in Vegas for work, was going to see Shall Ocin but ended up passing out early due to working all day, then found out this morning that DJ Pierre played an afterparty at a lounge with Nintendo games.

How badly did I fuck up?
You should go check out Techno Wednesday at Tacos & Beer tonight. Pretty legit little party.
