For the past few months, I've been arranging and re-arranging music from The Legend of Zelda series. Ultimately, the tracks turned out having a post-rock/space rock vibe. I've just finished recording demos for this project, and now I just want to get some feedback before I go and re-record them proper. None of these tracks are mixed/mastered perse, nor are the drums very defined. But I think it's enough to get the idea across and then some. So if I could borrow your ears and your time, I'd love to hear what everyone thinks about this. What's great about it? What sucks about it?
I have been waiting for this to be made ever since I first played Zelda and didn't even know it. "The Water Temple" is a beast. I like how it has such a strong voice of your own sound with the sweet, sweet melodies of Zelda are guiding it along. So far everything I've listened to has been awesome. "The Song Of Time" sounds like it's coming from some old west saloon on Mars. You've got skills dude. First the Pink Album and now this. Awesome.
Just discovered this thread. couldn't be more appropriate timing being that i am making my way through Skyward Sword right now. really digging this and thanks for doing this.

Thanks for listening. I really wanna go back and do some more tracks off of Skyward Sword. It had some great music in it--and some of the best dungeon music in the whole series.
Haven't beat it yet. I took about a week off from playing it to concentrate on my ESL training. I'm about halfway through (just got the Harp and fought The Imprisoned in the Sacred Realm...)
I just picked it up again yesterday and played it for a few hours, doing side quests and going into the Silent Realm, inside the Big Tree, Lake Floria, and back to Skyview Temple to get the sacred water. Really is a great game that just keeps getting better as I get further into the story. Can't decide if I like it more than Twilight Princess or not.

Also, just found this. Very nice. Eponas song. so nice.
Been playing skyward sword. Just beat the first boss Ghirahim, but have since put it down due to Skyrim and BF3. will definitely have to start it up this weekend again.
just beat the Fire Sanctuary, fought The Imprisoned AGAIN, and went through the time portal to chat it up with Zelda. started freaking out when I realized Zelda's Lullaby was playing as you find out Zelda's going to sleep for a looooong time. This game gets better and better as I get further into it. Probably my favorite Zelda game (next to Ocarina of Time of course).
Looking forward to your final product in April. Did you do any other arrangements or is this all of it?

Yup, about 10 more, but two of them may not make it to the final one.
And Imprisoned is beastly around the end. I hate that damn thing and its lightning steps. On a semi-related note, Groose is just too damn awesome.
just beat Skyward Sword. Epic finish. And yes, Cory the final boss was a huge pain in the ass. But damn the ending nearly brought me to tears. A lot of it probably had to do with nostalgia from my childhood playing Ocarina, Majora, and Twilight but wow just an awesome game. Probably my favorite zelda game next to Ocarina.

Nice. After you beat the game, it allows you to start the hero's quest, where enemies give twice as much damage and there are hardly any hearts to be found. I should probably pick that up sometime soon.
How long did it take you to figure out that you could use skyward strikes on him? That's one of the things that pissed me off about the game. They made it a point to stress to you that skyward strikes wouldn't work in that environment, and then you were just supposed to guess that they would work when the lightning started.

its kinda funny how i figured it out. i have an old wii (from like 2006) and just as old controllers, so i think the sensors are a bit whacked out or something. i.e. sometimes they calibrate wrong and when i move the controller right it will go left and totally f*ck me. Well when i was fighting demise for like the third time, the sensor just kinda randomly went up and it just happened to be during a lightning strike and i was just WOAH. still took me a couple of times to beat him.
other aspects of the end battle were hard. Killing the bobobklins with the horns was frustrating, and gimarrah or whatever that main villain's name was pretty difficult at first too.
all-in-all the motion controllers add a fun, unique twist to the game, but it makes it a lot more difficult, especially when at random times the sensor doesn't calibrate correctly with the controller. sometimes the sensor wouldn't pick up my shield bash and then gimarrah and demise would wipe the floor with me.

Oh yeah, those motion controls were definitely buggy at times. That was my main complaint about the game actually. Even with a new wiimote, it will register things wrong at times. You have to recalibrate it over and over again. It did less to immerse me in the environment and more to just remind me that "hey, you're using motion controls."

I'm pretty much finished mixing a polished version of this album with more tracks on it. I'm releasing it Saturday after an online listening party hosted by Arecibo Radio. After they stream the album, I'm putting it on my bandcamp for a pay what you want scheme.
