I'm still a little freaked out from this morning. We were on our run and saw a very little old man get creamed by a 6 foot 250 cyclist coming downhill. He looked like he was in pretty bad shape. We got 911 called but I don't know how badly he could be injured. He seemed to lose consciousness. Scary shiz. I hope he's ok. I just keep seeing him laying on the path.
I guess I'm saying be careful both as runners/ walkers and as cyclists. Both of them could have gotten seriously injured.
Damn, that's insane. I would be freaked out too if I was in your situation. I love cycling but you're right, so many cyclists think they're above the laws, rules, and even common sense stuff, like looking to see if anyone is around.
so true. there are so many serious cyclists here, in large part due to Hincapie's efforts to make Greenville cycling-friendly I think. and most of them use bike paths and are careful. however, the ones who ride on the road but don't follow traffic laws are so obnoxious. I see them turn left at red lights on major roads, or worse go straight through, and all sorts of other dangerous behavior.

man, I'm sorry! seeing something traumatic like that is tough. hope the guy is ok, glad you were there to get him help.
Speaking of which, Benedict Cumberbatch skipped out on Comic-Con this year despite being a hot ticket for nerds between Sherlock and Star Trek. As it turns out, his friend asked him to officiate his wedding that weekend.
aww even more reason to love him! he's fantastic in Sherlock. and the Star Trek casting was a nerd's paradise: Sherlock, Sylar, and even Mickey Smith... good stuff.
Dave's parenting tip #2045: Don't think you will be able to get your kids to eat something? Put it in a tortilla and call it a taco, i.e. chorizo + eggs = breakfast taco
Dave's life tip #1038: Chorizo = heartburn. Prepare accordingly.
I like chorizo. But, man, have you ever looked to see what that stuff is made of? Def, don't tell the kids (or many adults)

My grandma always says just be glad you're eating chorizo in America. In Mexico you have no idea what you're eating.
Minneapolitans: Any advice on things to do in Minneapolis? I'm going to be visiting next weekend and I'm sure I won't have any shortage of things to do, but I would be grateful for any suggestions. On Sunday I'm going to be going to the art festival. I also plan on going by the Walker and Institute of Arts. Will probably be going for a tour around U. of MN where my friend is working on her Ph.D. My cousin works for the circus doing the rigging so we'll probably go to the circus Saturday evening. I have most of the day Friday open to explore around on my own until I meet up with my friend when she gets off of work in the late afternoon.

Not sure how to feel after someone who broke my heart & has avoided me for over two years actually answers an email. Is now all of a sudden willing to send my things and money owed. I've begged for three years to no avail. The best part is the huge favor that was asked of me and he said he would call and talk to me about it. I have not talked to him in years.

If you are looking for booty-shaking fun, Get Cryphy will be in the record room at First Avenue on Friday. Bigger name in the MN hip hop scene. Gogol Bordello is at The Cabooze in their outdoor plaza. Might still be tix left. Get a Jucy Lucy at Matt's Bar.

Text message from my friend this morning, one city over. "Be careful about letting the boys play outside alone. There have been several bear sightings all over the city in the last few days."

It must be that time of the month. You know they can smell it.

Is anyone hip to this. It blew me away. tomorrow I'm going to check it out and I'll let you know how it goes. A few years ago I read where just regular 35mm film was about 20 mp and this is 40mp or so. I might have to buy one just for the camera end. Yikes...cr****
Since my handicap sister wants to ride to AK with us next summer it is going to take 9 days instead of 7. We know anybody or anything interesting in SD or MT besides Mt. Rushmore for us to do?
