What the fuck, I'm gonna find out where they are camping from you and bring a speedo and dress like an old wrestler and go over there and fuck with them, hahaha (I am now taking entries for recommendations on which wrestler to dress as)
A sick baby just might be the most heartbreaking thing that I've ever had to endure.
I don't have a child of my own in my care to feed and spank and such, but the night I took care of my nephew with night terrors (age two, unable to articulate his fears aside from horrible wailing) was a total revelation for me. [Feels, feels, feels]
You lucky guy; keep depositing that love for em - you'll need the compound interest in the bank account by the time the first one of them crashes your car at 5mph in a deserted parking lot.
Long, beautiful row to hoe. Bumper crop at the end will be worth it.
If I really do move up there, it's gonna be interesting to say the least. I'll do my best to ignore my normal manners because I am very inviting and friendly and polite, the opposite of NYC, so I'm just gonna have to fight my natural ways and try to turn my heart as cold as the weather is there.
I know Chicago isn't the NE, but I learned from chicojuarz that you don't speak to people in elevators (or on the street, or really anywhere I guess). I made that faux pas when I asked someone where they bought their soda (long story) while we were in the elevator. Nothing wrong with being friendly.... I think you'll find most people will be too stunned to be rude.
So the Wind + the Wave needs someone to work their merch table at their CT show on Thursday. I drunkenly told them last night to pencil me in, but I'd let them know for sure this morning. Is this something that I actually want to do?! It's at Wolf Den at Mohegan Sun Casino (aka not a normal venue), so I have no idea where they will set up the merch table (and I haven't been to a show there in yeeaarrsss). I would definitely be able to hear them no matter where it is, but not sure if there will be any sort of sight line. I obviously would try to find a friend, but who knows if I can find someone so I might end up doing it alone. It's upwards of an hour away. Opinions?
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

I wouldn't do it. But I don't know who wind + wave is, and I make a point to avoid casino shows. Plus spending 2 hours driving on a school night sounds awful. But I'm getting crotchety.

If you like the band and it won't screw up your work schedule I say do it. I assume it's pretty low risk for stress and will probably be fun.
That's coming from someone who has never worked a merch table before though.

After falling victim to marketing, I got a SiriusXM subscription. I had it for two months, and I just called and canceled that shit. Totally not worth it. I found myself listen to my own music 75% of the time anyways.

I have been a subscriber for over 10 years now. Its the only thing I listen to in my car. On the rare occasion I am not liking what is playing, I will bluetooth my phone in, but that is far and few between. On road trips I will listen until I get annoyed hearing repeated songs, but I usually have a road trip spotify playlist on the side for when that happens. Sorry it didn't work out for you.

I miss Sirius really. I haven't had it in like four years because I too was always listening to my own copies of music. I liked a lot of the shows and hosts they had. I've been having the same trouble really getting deep into new releases lately because I keep revisiting my vinyl collection rather than stream music on my desktop, though I do have some Bose computer speakers that sound really good.

I think it's just cause I'm a bit of a control freak. I like being able to choose what I listen to, while others just like going with the flow. I could see SiriusXM working out for the latter. All I need is my obsessively and properly tagged music collection on my phone.

I'm the same way. Every now and then I will get a new album on my phone and will listen via bluetooth, but not often. I will usually listen to a sports related station if I am driving in the morning, music in the evening. I also listen to a lot of Reds game via Sirius.

The ability to listen to Bruins games while on the road was the only thing keeping me, then I realized I can just do that with the NHL app.

Exchange between 2 guys from high school I'm still friends with on Facebook:
Person 1's status: "... and I hear California knows how to party!" Person 2's comment: "Here*" Person 1's comment: "Since when did you become all grammatically correct haha?"

The new Desaparcedios song isn't very good. But I really don't know what I was expecting. Conor Oberst is too old to make another album similar to Read Music/Speak Spanish
