Disappointed in Datsik. I’m glad he nutted up and apologized, dropped out and resigned, but damn. I guess people just get caught up in shit that spirals out of control or whatever. I think humanity and specifically guys are learning hard lessons that needed to be learned badly.

I have to pay a “Professional Privilege tax” on top of a license fee just to work here. Don’t get me started about stupid shit in this state.
"Professional Privilege" to deal with hop heads and insurance companies who also are battling you over easy prescriptions?
Can I assume that there isn't a sales tax or reduced land property taxes in TN?
Tennessee has some of the highest sales tax in the country... how high depends on local taxes too. If I'm in Chatty I wait until I'm back in Georgia before I stop at a gas station.

Can you believe that UMG blocked the original video version from the artists official youtube?

I moved out of TN in late 2006 and then became licensed there in 2007. A lot of states have either "active" or "inactive" law licenses, but TN did not at the time. So I technically had an active license, but I actually couldn't practice there because I also claimed an exemption from CLEs based on living out of state and not practicing in TN. Anyway, for some reason, no one ever started a professional privilege tax account for me, and I never received any notice that I was supposed to pay it. I paid my license fee every year and filed my CLE exemption forms, and still, never received any notice of any deficiency or anything. I didn't live or practice in TN, so it never came up in my world that the tax was even a thing. Then, in 2013, TN went to a system with active and inactive licenses and in that process, I received a form e-mail talking about how changes to the system would affect the professional privilege tax. So I e-mailed someone at the Dept of Revenue, and it turns out, I was supposed to be paying the professional privilege tax all along (for the privilege of practicing in TN, even though I didn't ever practice there). It's what, something like $400 a year? And I had five years of unpaid taxes. I was sweating that hard because I definitely did not have $2000 (plus any late fees or whatever) to give the state of TN for the privilege of not practicing there for the prior five years. Amazingly, though, they admitted it was an error on their end that an account was never created for me, and they waived the prior years' fees. Then I immediately had my license switched from active to inactive, so that I no longer had to pay in the upcoming years. I'm still kind of dumbfounded that it all worked out like that in the end.
I pay so much goddamn money to live here and they are terrible. My fridge has broken twice in the past two months. When I questioned today what the protocol was for the spoiled food etc, they said too bad things break and there’s no guarantee it won’t break again. So wtf? Am I just supposed to keep buying food that I have to throw away?

Ughhhhhhh
I hate renting landlords so much.
When I lived in San Antonio I was sooooo lucky and had the most amazing landlords ever. This is a giant complex and they don’t care about the renters AT all. If I wasn’t so sure I’d be moving in another year or so I’d leave this place so freaking quick. I’m even scared of leaving online reviews bc of them doing something to me, like finding ANYTHING to charge me.

I bet that they have a parent company that they answer to. If they aren't taking care of you, take it up the chain of command.
Also, there are online reviews that you can put out into the world.

WTF? What shit brand are they buying, I literally have had the same fridge for 6 years out here in brooklyn *and from the way I cleaned that fucker out when I moved in, it's been there for at least 2 more years than that* How off-brand is your landlord?! [Mind you, I know in NY there's rental laws that say that it has to be supplied to you within 48hrs or you can seek them being fined, and it reduced from your rent -- but it's toooough to fight a more monied interest]

My best friend is an apartment complex manager. She's left complexes due to the upper company management. Some places own so many complexes that they try to skimp as much as possible. She fights for tenants but she's left some shitty places.
I'm catsitting this week for a friend who lives across the bridge in Philly. We're about to get hit with a noreaster that's already started and will continue until 2 or 3am Thursday morning. Could get 9-12 inches. I gave the cats extra food and water - if I come back Thursday evening is that too long for them? Idk if I want to just camp in Philly and take the next two days off work or if I'm going to have trouble getting into Philly and finding parking Thursday evening.

I don't know what noreaster is or how far Philly is from you, but I think Thursday is too long. I don't know what your options are and I would have for you to take off of work. This sounds like no fun and a shitty situation. EDIT: Wait, today is Tuesday. They should be fine for a day and a half/ two days.

a nor'easter is a heavy snow fall, i think you could've figured that out with context ;-) you're pretty smart

I figured it was a bunch of snow, just not exactly what it what type of snow, blizzard, snowpocalypse or what. It doesn't sound swell that is for sure. And thanks.
