This came from my friends who run a venue down here and have industry contacts
"Insider info - They had Phish on the hook (*rimshot) but they backed off. As of 2 weeks or so ago they were still trying hard for Paul McCartney. If he turned them shits down, maybe they've started going after Neil Young as an alternative. "

I think it's wayyyy more likely for there to be a one-off show on the beach at the Hangout for the Beach Boys later in the summer, way after Jazzfest. They've done this with like 3 big shows. Tickets given out for free.......they did a massive Jimmy Buffett show, then a weekend of some country guy and Bon Jovi during the first Deluna Fest in Pensacola.
Psychedelic Beach Boys on the beach would be pretty epic.....not during Hangout though.

How confident is everyone that the Beach Boys we'd get would bet he good stuff? Not to say that I'm not optimistic, it's only that leading up to The Police at Roo in 2007 everyone kept telling me that they'd go real deep into some sweet dub sounds, and then it turned out to be the single worst headlining show I've ever seen. That said, I'm not even sure if the Police ever had anything I'd be interested in, though there's some fantastic Beach Boys out there.
I don't know, I'm listening now and Pablo is sending listeners on a "Zew Cruise" which is an hour and a half of straight music, no commercials. Conceivably if that means nothing but music, that'll take us past 11:30am. Unless he's talking 11am mountain time. But he's not.
However, he is playing the Alabama Shakes, which coming from a Chicagoan who just discovered this band thanks to this board, is pretty flipping sweet.
oh dammit LMAO Im listening thinking I missed it or something - forgot about the time change. Sometimes Im not all that bright
Don't worry because you surely are not the only one. I did this the yesterday for the initial reveal. I mixed up my morning routine so I could hear Pablo announce at 6. At 6:15, I left for work and was pissed off that the announcement wasn't made at 6. Then, I realized that he was cst and I was est so I needed to wait til 7.
Also, with the hour or however straight music... they do break in between the songs to mention what songs have been played and what is coming up.
Pablo has been pretty up front about what he can and can't say. I would trust him about the 11am drop.
I talked to the Zew Crew at a GIVERS (I really hope they are added!) show down here about a month ago. They couldn't give any names but they were pretty pumped. Apparerently most everybody held to the "don't preempt the initial announcement" deal that I assume was discussed fully with everyband that was playing.
Pablo, I have got your back, but don't let me down!
also the the link to the Zew website (with streaming): 92zew.net/wordpress/ Just incase everyone hasn't already googled it. Just be sure to listen to the 92zew stream. They have several different stations they stream (92new, 92blues, ect...)
Pablo again just said on air there's going to be an announcement today about the third headliner and he said it will be "HUGE" (I tried to use caps to capture the inflection of his voice, I don't think it worked).
